Before spending a bunch of money no one has asked or I missed it are you using a green glide? A glide will change everything. Here is my son at 6 running a TI wand off a 650 on dual wand with 50' of hose. A glide by itself might be all you need but a ergo like Draper said will change your life

Then you're almost as big as me...so its about the tools not being the right size. I have a Greenhorn that Greenie made me with an extended tube. Its about 6-7" longer than normal. It helps but I'm still hitting up the chiropractic office a lot and also use an inverting table since 2003.
My Doc said no to invertion & no to the chiropractor but didn't tell me any thing but to slow down and protect what I have?

In most cases I believe it isnt the wand that's the problem.

Poor technique and no helper are the culprits.
Well I agree - I have been lifting that PC heavy wand since 2009 and finally put a Teflon glide (siliconed) on it - what a difference already - standing up straight and letting the wand glide already made my back feel better - but as you know your going to have to lift the wand. I'd love a helper but don't work enough to afford one.

I like the Rotovac XL, its not too heavy and will cut your wand slinging time down. I just don't know if using the RE would bother your back.

It will up your game as far as cleaning results and with a lot less effort than slinging a scrub wand. CGD you're back to the wand though.

I think the Bentley is the way to go - for $350.00 and a Teflon guide $90.00 - I'm still ahead from $650.00 on the U.S. Products. So after lifting that tank Prochem for 6 years with no glide - I'm sure I'll be pleased with the Bentley & Teflon guide. Great comments - thx again! :)

I like my 360i - just heavy getting it in and out of the van - it kicks butt on thrashed rental carpets. But not needed on every job - really gets the carpet wet so I end wand vaccumming afterwards....

The glide will make a nice difference for your back for sure.

Did the NEW Bentley ever come out? If you can get it with a traditional handle and trigger, go for it. The Ergo option is something you'll have to figure out if you want, I wouldn't.

The old version has a nightmare spray manifold set up that get's knocked out of position easily.

Looking at their website I dont see it..

Larry Cobb should be around soon to let us know if the new Bentley is out.

I have the 14" with 2" tube, and old style manifold, unless they fixed the streaking problems I would not buy another one.

No one seen him since @dgargan made a thread about TM problems...........:stir:

You are joking aren't you???

I carry mine in one hand up three flights of stairs when I need to.

I don't find it heavy at all.

I thought that was kind of odd also. Most of my career was spent lugging around an 80# Clarke 175 (sometimes bringing it in with one hand when I would be extra strong from weight lifting) so a 40# rotary is like a day at the beach. But everyone is different.

And then this comment.....The water recovery on the 360i is like nothing else, especially with a quick dry pass. But it is essential that you keep the felt ring moist and the air path clear of obstruction, which involves taking the cleaning head off at least every few jobs and changing out the felt ring with a fresh wet one from a container holding a few of them. At least that what I do....

A wand is the tool you use every time with thousands of passes per day.

Unless you really can't afford it (and even then) basing your decision on cost is not a wise decision.

After all, investing in your health and well being, is protecting your biggest investment- YOURSELF.

Be smart.

Yes the RV is very light compared to the old / new 175's, but the OP of this thread has a very bad back, so his situation is much different than ours.
I grew up with a DAD that had just a terrible time with life due to his back, still to this day it bothers him even after surgery, Doc is trying to talk him in for one more. The pain my dad lives in I can not imagine, and even with all that pain he continued to go out and make a living for us.
The OP is probably just like my Dad living and dealing with a terrible pain everyday, but has no choice but to go out and clean.
The almighty dollar really sucks sometimes it rests for no one and has no sympathy for those that are suffering.
I would think the Mytee carbon fiber wand with updated spray manifold would be a good choice, the non swivel is pretty light, if you can find one now.

Let be more clear, yes it's only 39 lbs, inside my Chevy Express van, with a large vacuum hose reel in there, it's narrow, so I end up lifting the Rotovac almost to the roof so the handles clear the hose reel while I'm bent over, it's a bitch getting in and out of there. Once it's on the ground it's fine. Make sense?

Guess I'm a bit confused by this? The idea is a "Lighter wand" to help my back? It's not just based on cost but yea that's a factor as well?

I clean the head after every job, but I have always put the gasket on dry? I didn't know it needed to be wet?
