The raffle had a big return this year and the room was packed. It was great to see so much money raised for rescue animals.
However, I'm wondering if the give away might be better supported using the auction format? The only problem with the raffle is that participants feel that some are "buying" the prizes by purchasing more tickets and moving the odds in his or her favor. The auction would give everyone an equal opportunity to win and still - in theory - raise significant money for the cause.
You could also allow for virtual bidding by those not in attendance via Skype, MB chat or some other platform.
