The cleaning seems simple to me..I guess I just want to become an expert overnight. Need to learn all about sealing, color sealing and different types of tile.

Dont think you need a. Class. For tile n grout
This is what i use
5" raptor tool...change out jets for wider angle....300-400$.???
Flex powder heavy with pump up sprayer on grout lines...let it set 5-10 min
New product by shorebest ...13 ph alkaline for concrete...works great 412/471-3330 this product only sets 2-3 minutes
Lite scrub with grout brush..dont need heavy scrub with
Rinse with alkaline rinse ....fuel heater is best
Fan dry
Try a job on your houseor rental to start
Call or text if you have other questions....

He is both right and wrong. Its easy and you shouldn't need a class BUT you'll sure as hell wish you had taken one once you fook something up.

Mike can cut that learning curve down to where your risk is minimized. Its tough to come up with money for training, understandable, but that is normally the best money you'll ever spent.

Learning off someone else's mistakes instead of yours, have confidence processing the work instead of fumbling in the dark. Have a mentor you can call anytime day or night. Mike never sleeps, he is a robot! :winky:

Just kidding about the night! I don't want to end up on a raft.

I don't think you need a class for tile and grout cleaning or sealing...Identification could be helpful...Hardest part is to know what to charge, how long will it take to be effective and efficient, how to small talk your way to making more $$$ and a future sale...On another note, call some owner/operators in Iowa, and ask them to work for free...If you lived in Las Vegas, I'd accept you...After all, you may decide the field is not for you...Good Luck!

I think as with all cleaning, testing Chems and materials are important.

You need not fear much when you stay on the alkaline side as long as you tested the floor for any topicals

IF AT ALL UNSURE? TEST THE FLOOR FOR A TOPICAL BECAUSE THE FIRST TIME YOU DONT AND ACTUALLY HAVE A TOPICAL YOU WILL REGRET IT.

Start off slow be safe:
Agreed to stay on alkaline a and stay off acids....
Stick with ceramic tile ...don't worry about color sealing........stay off stone.....don't even hafta seal for a while..
Just clean a few with a small tile wand....don't hafta spend 800$ for a spinner....
See how your work load goes....I like tile, but don't do a lot of it compared to carpet cause I make better with carpet.

you guys probably don't get the calls I get.

Some of the most basic, take for granted knowledge goes so overlooked you can't imagine.

I took a worthless IICRC class and learned from here and the hard knocks school. Not everyone can afford to take the time to do so, especially now a day where every carpet cleaner is offering hard surface. Certainly not the case when I started this servcie

Let's ask Tom King how valuable my class for his techs turns out to be next week.

Where in Iowa are you?

http://bestvacuumiowa.com/?reqp=1&reqr=raM4pzkzo2WhMKRhpTW6 This is the domain on your profile page??

I consider carpet my specialty but am equipped to clean tile. I've got a Truckmount, 175, Turbo Hybrid, and Jim's Rapid Seal Pro and I know how to use each. I've never color sealed tile.

Shoot me a PM if you want to ride with me someday.
