Why not just monitor and use a weather app to keep a close eye on the temp AND wind?

i have 2 vans at 2 locations. it gets cold enough here that minutes matter. In the winter the van may be up to 1 hour away from me and if the power goes out and im out doing something ill come back to a solidly frozen machine if the power fails.

I can monitor upto 3 vans with this one. Make sure you put the monitors fairly close to the floor and away from direct air flow from the heater to get an accurate reading! These are Oregon Scientific models

Holy cow, Scott! You have to drive an hour just to pick up the van? That's tuff... Everyday?

For the far away van they do make a temp sensor(like those above) that uses the internet, like to a phone or computer. Try googling wireless temperature monitor. Or something like that...

Must really suck being somewhere it freezes. My mother-n-law has already drained all the water lines in her lake house. She lives in northern Maine. There was snow this morning. The lake freezes thick enough to drive vehicles on.

Got ya...

It's also a good idea to carry a couple gallons of rv anti freeze or something similar. If it's a slide in it will give you some time, if cant get a tow for a while.
