I got sprayed by a skunk once. I was running home on some railroad tracks so I was only looking 4 or 5 ties ahead when it caught my eye as it turned to spray.
I dove to the side and thought it missed me but dad got a whif and scolded me for coming in the house.
A long shower got rid of it but it barely got me.

I shoot 5-6 of them a year. Some spray the barn when they hear the first shot. Other do a weird roll towards me and then I shoot them.
They look like they could be aggressive they have sharp claws and sharp teeth but I've never had one come after me.

I'm much more concerned about pissed off Racoon's.

Since no one mentioned it. The odor is oil based and you need a solvent or high ph to removeir. We did one with 36 skunks in a crawlspace. Nice 30k job. Not including trapping the skunks. Ozone thermal fog cleaning pad replacement. Customer w a s very happy.

First off, I would like to thank Nate for his new avatar, thank you sir.

Second, the job turned out great, there was no need for me to actually go out and do it after all. It was a simple, prespray both couches with an axiom/odorcide concoction( was not going to put a lot of O2 on the couch as it was a rich blue color) allowed to dwell as well as a quick pass with a wet terry towel then extract with a dry pass.

Carpet had the brunt of the skunk oil/funk so when I presprayed the couches, I went ahead and presprayed the whole carpeted area and just let it dwell as I did the couches. Then came back over the carpet with cobbs powermax mixed a bit heavy and thoroughly extracted with the zipper and a dry pass.

Carpet was dry when the customer came home and they burried their faces in the carpet and the couches and said they couldn't smell a thing.

I told them tommorow or Thursday would be the real test as we needed the odorcide to flash off and dry and then see if there was any additional odor still remaining.
