Meg did a sofa special. How did it work and are you going to run with it again this year?
It worked out great, and we do plan to run another special this winter. Just not sure what yet. We are in moving our shop and office, so the slower time right now has been welcomed so we can get that all done. John and Brian are heading out to Vegas next week for ICE/Surfaces, so I didn't want to run a special in Jan. if we weren't going to be able to accommodate people. I'll likely put something out for February.
We ran 3 last year. Over the winter we did 50% off couch cleaning, then 50% off hardwood floor and granite polishing. End of August we had a lull with all the back to school stuff and we ran a 50% off first two rooms special. The Couch and carpet cleaning specials did great (results below). The hardwood floor and granite polishing bombed....not a single taker.
Our couch promo ( Emailed out on 1/5 work had to be completed by end of Feb.) resulted in 12 jobs with average invoice of $700.00 for a total of $8399.98. The carpet cleaning promo (Emailed out Aug 21 and work had to be completed by Sept. 11) resulted in 17 jobs with the average invoice of $766.02 for a total of $13022.31.
Clearly the winner here was the carpet cleaning one. Not only did it generate more jobs and a higher average, it did so in a smaller time frame. There were only 3 weeks that it could be redeemed vs. the 8 weeks the couch promo ran. Not sure if it was the time of year, the offer (more people wanted carpet cleaning over upholstery cleaning) or because it was more time bound and people felt the need to act and we were able to get more out of that one.
