Could somebody please give me a quick walk through on wool. I need to buy chems asap

So I got a call today for a job, woman says she has merino wool. I have yet to clean wool so I need to buy some wool products now. I don't think I'll see wool very often. I'm looking for something from jondon so I know it'll be here in 3 days. I know you can't get wool to hot right? Whats the ideal temp range? Don't overwet and use fans, use a wool safe prespray but what about a rinse? Can you use normal all fiber rise or is getting a fine fiber rinse needed? Can I use the brushpro on wool?
Also do you normally charge extra for wool? I get this as a referral and jumped my prices for this job to mach who referred me and then the woman seemed shocked at how low the price was.

I'm getting my cert in a little over a month...

Thank you. I have the white brushes. I think I'd play it safe and not use it. I think I lost the job anyways because she wanted it done tomorrow. Her dog got in the trash and a moldy fruit touched the carpet and shes scared her carpet is gonna mold now so she wants it cleaned asap. I bs'ed my way through the whole call then when I gave her the price I guess it was so low she instantly was like "are you sure?" and then didn't think I could do it lol. I went at $55 a room and double charged one room for being big...

Yeah I thought about that on one hand I was happy on the other I've had it dead set in my mind carpet requires a degree in wizardry and what not and my confidence had been crap getting into this. But armed with the search function here and the other place I'm batting 100% and feeling like I can take anything on lol.

Keep on your truck some Preaction from Chemeisters which you can buy fron JonDon. It is an acid side prespray which I use on all wool rugs I clean and most furniture fabric. Wool cleans up beautifully with a low pH cleaner and a soft brush or white pad on a rotary followed by a FWR or acid side rinse. Don't use any hydrogen peroxide products to treat pet stains as they can discolor the wool fibers if not rinsed out quickly.

I've obviously done something right. Never had a problem on a wall to wall wool carpet. Area rugs are a whole different beast. Never bought an area rug either.

but also , see Kill Odor Plus by Chemspec mentioned. It used to be labeled as an encapsulant. New label does not have that use . My distributor has no clue if the formula is different. I had been using it in some instances padcapping. Also crbing it in following HWEing for odor control.
Anyone know if it is different now??

Wool is not that difficult to clean. As long as the product your cleaning with isn't buffered you can clean it with a high ph. If it's a jute backed wool I might use an acid rinse. I've also used peroxide to remove feces stains without any noticeable damage. It did remove the stain which was paramount. I normally agitate wool with my Whittaker. I know this advice won't be popular but I've used it for over 25 years and never damaged a single wool rug. Customers want their carpets clean without excuses.

It is a traffic Lane cleaner with a pH of 6.8 and is both CRI and woolsafe approved.
It can also be useful as a deodorizer.

The great part about Kill Odor Plus is it also contains a pairing agent to modify odors in the surfaces being cleaned. It does not just cover the odor it pairs it into a pleasant smell.
It is great for nursing homes, retirement centers and especially memory loss centers as it controls the odors associated with these types of facilities.

It is also a great product used to help control odors on hard surfaces like tile and grout that have urine odors. Add 8 ozs to your normal T&G cleaner and clean as normal and the Kill Odor Plus will knock down those odors quickly.

But, do you know if it is possible to use as an encap product. Old label said it was. Now , on the new label no.
I like to use it sometimes when Low moisture cleaning in places like workout clubs. Actually was getting it occcasionaly for just this..
Went in one day , walked over to the shelf and could not find it! Label had changed was all, and the jug to blue. Never really looked closer. On reading the label the other day the part saying encapsulant is no longer on there. Distributor has no idea. Thought it was still the same thing. ( I seem to find and teach them this kind of stuff all the tme!!!)i

when the new GHS label mandates were enforced we were running out of space for label directions.
To use as an encap dilute 6 oz per gallon just like the old directions said

Perhaps all the label said was it could be used as a "Bonnet" cleaner?

What was the dilution ratio?

I used enzall with KOP FOR YEARS with great success on pet stains and odors.

Hay @Mikey P I'm feeling a kill odor plus raffle coming on.


I'm currently using grease eater,and kill odor plus for urine jobs.

NOT FOR WOOL.
