My six-12 has given up the ghost with a little help from my tech and a 13,000 truck. It still works but vibrates so bad it destroys the stainless quick and spinner bearing pretty fast. I just spend an hour and straightened the arms and installed a new bearing but it still vibrates some. I can't stand the vibration so time to buy a new one. It's crazy how strong that plastic is, not one crack. Someone told me the turbo hybrid leaves the tile much drier so I was going to get it. Any thoughts❓

You need to dial in the output shaft where you replaced the bearings id imagine. I dont suppose you have a dial indicator?

I do, but I don't see how that would help. Explain please. It's vibrating because it was run over. I bent back the arms but not perfect. I'll probably never get them in the exact same plane. You can't work on them while the are attached to the bearing. To much force is required. It vibrates enough to damage the male end of the 1/8" quick disconnect and they are both stainless.

You mentioned replacing the bearing. If the shaft is off just a bit you will get vibration. It may not solve the bigger problem but it should help.

I didnt know it was run over lol.

Check it at the shaft attached to the bearing. Maybe on the outer edge of where those shafts are attached. I see there isnt much room there for an indicator.

Sorry Gene im having trouble explaing it. I dont know part names but where that nut is near the housing and where I imagine the bearing is theres a large cylinder that those shafts attach to. Thats where I would put the indicator. You will have to turn the indicator 90 degrees.

I have an almost brand new SX 15 sitting in my garage. I do not like it at all. I've been using my god only knows how old it is Mytee spinner. The welds on if just broke on Wednesday night. I'm dreading have to break out the SX on Monday.
For me, it leaves the floor too wet, and the stupid boot continually pops out of line and I have to completely take it off after each use and realign it, which is a pain in the butt lemme tell ya!
I am going to see if I can get Interlink to take that SX back and get and a Turbo Hybrid instead. I like the low profile, smaller head and it just looks more durable that the SX as well.
Gene....if you can afford it I would say just get the turbo and get rid of the SX.

Got it. That makes sense. The bearing is new and it still shakes so I'm sure it's the arms. You can see they are bent. I got them within a few thousands. I'll get a new turbo next week. The sx-12 can be used if we need to run 2.

Turbo Hybrid is without a doubt the best made, highest quality components and does leave the floor drier and the brush ring / hard boot ring never comes loose.
You can buy replacement spray bars and water swivels.
Also just a reminder....when cleaning
around the edges of slider glass doors where the grout always cracks from the movement of the heavy slider....large pieces of grout can be sucked out and get wedged between the spray bar and inner deck and badly bend the spray bar. Just had a friend have this happen to him....new spray bar is around $180 and the swivel is $250 ....if you don't fix/ replace the spray bar the swivel bearing will fail in no time.....bit the bullet and buy a Turbo and always check for loose grout around transitions and sliders.

Gene, I have only owned the TH spinner, it works very well and I think the general feeling is that it's the better of the two. Steambrite is the least expensive place to order one and it comes with a free cobra which you can sell on ebay for 150 or so to recoup some cash, or keep for your own use. http://www.steambrite.com/turboforc...ning-spinner-wand-free-cobra-wand-p-4081.html

The wobble destroyed the swivel in about 30 hrs of cleaning. It also completely destroyed the male quick disconnect. High speed vibration is good for nothing, maybe a massage.

Me and Bryan have been friends for what? 15 years or so? How many turbos did I sell? 5-600 while you were there? There is no better tool period. I was once the biggest seller of turbos then we hit saturation and everyone has one that knows me, well just about. The thing doesn't ever need replaced unless you run it over or are adding a second one. Just replace the wear items and keep on making money. Call me and I'll hook you :) I'm out of free cobra's but can make you a really sweet package deal.

I don't think I've ever replaced a thing on our 3 units.

How many users bother with the plastic ring?

Brush all the time. But I suppose if we did more outside work..

Guys that do a lot of commercial bathrooms with the 1" roll tile use the ring. The Brush is the number 1 replacement part then the swivel then the gun swivel then the SS Line then the inner and outer shells.

Bought my Turbo from John Olson off this Board YEARS ago....and have never had one problem with it!

He is correct....they will go forever!

And as I mentioned in another thread...those of you looking for the PMF swivel Stair tool....all modified and done and ready just to use like the ones I use (dual jet, Greenglide) @John Olson can take care of it completely!

I just found a spare swivel assembly in a box of spare parts from the box truck deal. That's a pretty shameless dealer.

Turns out the plastic housing did crack. Right at the top. When your 54 always wear glasses when checking. The wobble was from the top not being secure. I bought the turbo hybrid today and I'll make a large plate for the top of the other one to secure it. It can be a back up it the plate works. Don't see why it wouldn't.

I didn't have time to really look at it today I was to busy but it looked like you have to take out the three bolts to change it. They should of made it twist and snap out. Can't wait to see how much better it dries.
