I have never run into this and need to know if it's safe to do.
A regular customer has one room in her house that has heated floors. We believe it is just water tubes that do the heating and that there are no wires.
Her dog had diarrhea all night and chose that room of course. Then her daughter tried to clean it up, since she is out of town. I know I'm going to need to OSR and claw it.
I can't think of any reason why it should be an issue but thought I better ask first if anyone has ever run into this and is there anything I should consider.

Also....I stretched this room a few years ago and quite frankly am praying that I don't have to actually pull the carpet up to check.....I bradded it down pretty good because it butts right up to a fancy wood step as its a sunken room.

Disengage and pull up the carpet in a section of the room. See what's under it.
If you're going to Waterclaw it you might have to dry it pulled up anyways. To be sure everything is dried out properly between the heating lines.

Good point. I don't want to have to leave fans behind though...she is an hour away up in the mountains. Ugh!

Most radient floor heat that is boiler controlled is underneath something. Either under the subfloor or some sort of mortar applied over. I dont believe the latter is code because of leak detection. You should be fine. Turn it up and it will dry fast and easy.

I do remember that when I stretched that room I had to be careful bradding the carpet down so as not to pinch or puncture the tubes around the edges.
That's the only thing I recall about it. It was a weird install and I don't think it was done properly. I think they actually laid it on the existing floor and put pressed wood or plywood over it. I just can't recall for sure.
That's a good idea though about turning the heat up on it to help it dry and of course @Zee...also a good idea about her getting a blower or 2 from Homer Depot. Although she is kinda far from everything, but that's on her...not me!

And I know you have probably seen this...but this is a floor with the heat runs inside the concrete...and the people did not have an antifreeze in the lines....

The heat went out and froze up the place....complete loss for this floor (and this job was a nightmare too)

Ended up having difficulty getting payment from the client....

Finding this many leaks in runs like this is like trying to find a needle in a haystack....insurance company was happy with our work...client was wishing I could have maybe found precise locations of heat breaks....WAY TOO MANY and messing everything up scanning....

Insurance company authorized jackhammering up the entire floor...homeowner installed forced air..... :errf:

What type of dog/ a little toy breed is going to be easier than a large mutt.

It's a big dog....shepherd mix. It's a very thick high pile shag carpet, dark green so it may not have penetrated through...again, it mostly depends on what the daughter did to try to clean it.
Some people panic and put a lot of water down and spread it down into the pad, I'm hoping she did not do that!
This is a very high end gorgeous mountain home. I will post some cool pics. The kitchen is almost as big as the main level of my house lol!
@Mark Saiger that's cool video! I can say that the floor in question is not as elaborate as that. If I recall correctly it was added in after the house was built and laid on top of the subfloor with a new wood subfloor on top of it.
I have to be there at 1 so we shall see!

Well, before I left to go do this job I called to verify the condition of the carpet with the other daughter. She said there was no smell whatsoever and told me what the other sister cleaned it up with. She said the mother still wanted me to clean the room though as she likes to sit on the carpet in that room.
I ended up just bringing a 3 gallon portable and my pick up so I didn't put wear and tear mountain driving on a fully loaded van.
I get there and black light it and realized that the other daughter exaggerated big time...smelled nothing whatsoever and just did a surface clean with an enzyme. Good as new.
Glad I was able to speak to the non-exaggerating daughter in the end! She even gave me a tip!
