Folding chairs, what's an average price to clean?

Large church we clean for just bought 200 used ones. What would you charge for that quantity?


They are also spending 1500 on church pew cleaning, breaking is not the goal on this one(I'm actually donating about ten pews and an entryway).


I've pretty much decided a buck fifty a chair seems like a fare deal. I'm sure I'll have to move many of them.

No "I" could clean one of those ever 3 minutes. So that's 20 an hour and I deserve ummm $100.00 an hour at least. So at least $5.00 each at $100.00 an hour target.

No protector, Meg. I'd imagine they will poop their pants enough at just the cleaning cost. That is a great idea though, no reason I can't include it as an option. On the pews at least.

If youre ok with $1.50 a chair you should bill $7.50 per chair then donate $6 back for every chair you do.

Id do it for $2 for dusty only - $7.50 for hammered.

I think you could but I never price at what I can do, frankly an hourly employee isn't going to break a sweat like you will. It will take time to prepare them, wipe them dry. Plus you can trade off when you tire.

Desk Jockey has it right, figure out how many you can reasonably do in an hour and then figure how much you need to make an hour. You should have this number figured out before pricing any jobs. Don't sell yourself short, charge how much you would normally and if you want to be generous give them 20%-30% off, if that's what your profit margin is.

Yes, this is my first foray into the folding chair biz. I really have no clue how long it should take...

I do believe the 200 chairs will be much more of a pain in the butt than I'm accounting for.

10 per chair about a minute a chair. Set up an assembly line and go to town. Set up and wipe down is probably 3 total like Chavez suggested. Churches always get a special rate, even if it's not mine.

Get some cobbs solvent protector a small bucket and a good sponge and go to town. Or better yet some good towels you can change out when they get dirty.

We clean about 500 white vinyl chairs a couple times a year at the wedding barn. We detail them completely and they get nasty.

2 people 4 hours roughly. Just seats and backs wiped down like I mentioned id guess 2 to 3 hours for 200 chairs. And they would be protected.
