From 4800 feet up to 8000 and down to the bay area at sea level..

Once I hit stop and go traffic into the city the MPG dropped to 21.5

Eat me Econoline..

Edgar does but doesn't post a bunch here? Still seems to love it. Where my dad works they swapped from all sprinters to diesel transits since they first came out. Only issue on one of them is the automatic particulate burner thing on the exhaust side...

Wait till you see the water tank going in my transit ....

Yes Lee. I'm quite familiar with that fact... growing up in Europe seeing them since forever. (my brother and I almost purchased 7 of them in the mid 1990s at an auction)

Just not sure what Mikey was saying with it.

I probably get 10mpg in my 1 ton, and maybe 14-15 in my 3/4ton(both 5.4).. My 1 ton is a total dog when it's fully loaded with water.

Has anyone here drove one that has 100+ gallons of water? That is great fuel savings if it can handle a large load!

I believe the Chevy takes what gas you put in them 30 gal and if you refill at 360 miles it average 12 but your still running a machine that uses gas. My 4o5's in a Chevy 6.0 liter avg. 12.2 with the 570 it's down to 11.8

My 4.8 liter Chevy with a 405 avg 12.4

Seeing a butler in a Chevy avg 9 isn't a inspiring number.

I was considering it but if I can get a transit with a 650hp I might save some gas and money.

Every one of us will be driving differently.... In different areas of the country. Around here there is almost no flat land to drive on. It's either uphill or even more uphill... So the same van will be worn much differently than the guy's van in flat Kansas.



Also when I look at the driving cost vs how much that van makes... Take Hagopian for example: They drive a lot of vans to a lot of jobs. But because they are big like that, they can put vans on short routs covering a lot of jobs. So each van makes a lot more money compared to the driving distance. And take some of us that cover very large areas for the same size jobs. It doesn't matter if my van is 34mpg if I have to drive it 40miles between jobs....but Hagopian is smiling with their 9mpg Butlers because of the rout those Butlers are on.
By the time I arrive to my next job they are halfway done with the next one.




So go big or go home.... *shuts door of his Smart with a Hayabusha engine and peels the heck out*

Volkswagen t4 1 ton with a huge diesel (77hp). Ok, so going uphill I have to pull in behind the cement trucks and put my 4-ways on, but aprox 30 mpg.

My mpg number includes drive time and work time (machine running )
I have checked feel usage on just the machine and its about 1.4 gal an hour.

Doesn't matter to me who use what and why! What matters to me us how can I save more money!

I would still have to drive said butler truck mount between my stops and get killed on gas while I was cleaning.

I think an Everest 650 idle down in a ford would get me better gas mileage last me longer and give me as good of results.

Even if I got 17-18 mpg that a huge savings on the bottom line.

What engine are you running Mark? I think both of my 1 tons with the 6.0 only get about 11-12.
