So once the brushes lay down in the direction they spin and stay laying down is there that much added agitation? After 1 or 2 jobs the new brush heads brushes are laying over permanently so I'm just wondering how much brushing they are really doing?

Mine is broke in now and it still leaves that rotary swirl that is hard rake out.

So it's digging in.

Rotovac told me you could put the head in hot water to straighten out the brushes. I have not done it yet so I'm not sure how,
I guess lay it face down in hot water or maybe just dip it in very hot water. I guess one of the experts will give us instructions
.

I understood that one of the advantages of the brush head is no tool marks. Was fixin to get one, but I'll probably limp along on my Hoss for now.

I read on another site the guy from rotovac says that he doesn't use a brush on residential carpet that it's more for commercial jobs.

If they are anything like the tile and grout brushes, I would boil up some water in the tea kettle and pour it over the brushes and they would straighten out right away.

The motors on the machines with a speed control are probably d. c. Reverse the polarity from the control to the motor.

The cleaning head would spin off. If thhe head attached to the unit with a cam, like a standard floor machine

The drive block would spin off.
