Promaster vs. Transit

I've got a 2008 Sprinter Van. All in all it's been a good van. Rides great. Looks great. But expected reliability is another thing. I've had a torque converter go out and a turbo so far. First was covered under warranty. The other was ridiculously expensive. 3k if I remember correctly. I talked them down a bit. But anyway, I'm thinking of getting a new van. Being down is not an option - too busy. A back up van doesn't work - no parking.

So any input on the Promaster vs Transit?

The Promaster I got a quote on - 3500 High roof long wheel base - fully loaded was only 35k. Included folding mirror. U-connect. Tow package. Very cost effective.

But not terribly attractive. And unknown to me.

The Transit Van. I don't haven't gotten a quote on. But it seems it would be over 40k. Better looking. More reliable? Better service?

Thoughts?

Promaster is front wheel drive from what I've heard. Very attractive in IA winters.

I really like the look of both.

But had Dodge offered a low roof one ton I may have gone that route due to snow
It snows in Santa Cruz? I thought it was sunny all the time.

Awesome price on the van. congrats. I like the install too.

Car and Driver Magazine rates Transit 5 Stars and Promaster 3 and a half Stars... GMC/Chevy 3 Stars.
I saw that. Of course it's not from the perspective of a carpet cleaner or a working man for that matter. Just guys who love cars. From a practical point of view the promaster has a lot to offer - well thought out details. Like the door handles are verticals. The insulated cargo divider is the but she's kind of an ugly Betty. And the price - incentives galore.

I like the inside cabin layout of the Ram a bit more

Dodge da fadda, Ram da daudda......

I like the new Transits myself... My friend has one with the ecoboost, fully loaded it still got some pep... Too bad his MyKey is programmed to 75mph I believe.... A fleet vehicle...
