sure,

Who voted him in?

What has been (really)changed since Tony got ousted?

What is his salary?

Is the IICRCA still in effect, and why?

Did they have a booth at the Experience? Did they pay for it?

The last thing people want to hear is be patient, we're working on it. Give us quantifiable, measurable goals - for instance:

Right now we commit to returning emails within 4 days, and within the next 3 months we will improve to 2 days. Within six months we will be able to return emails same-day.

etc.
etc.

And does the IICRC actually measure and track the time it takes to process tests, answer the phone, email, renewals and so forth. You can't tell if you've fixed it if you don't measure it.

And if you do measure then in the spirit of openness you should regularly publish the metrics to members/registrants.

Good questions. Got more?

Yes, I do.

I was certified, and our company was Firm certified for 25 years, by the IICUC in 1985, my cert #1285, and then the name change to the IICRC. I kept my certs current until the fiasco a couple of years ago with the Clean Trust and then back to the IICRC.

The IICRC really never did anything for me as far as promoting an IICRC cleaner but I always paid my dues for 28 some years.

But this year the IICRC hooked up with the carpet mills and said that if a retail carpet store does not use a current certified IICRC cleaner, their carpet warranty is void. So, I lost a huge carpet retailer here in town because of that, and the guy who now handles their cleaning has only been in biz cleaning carpet for 5 years, but he is currently certified. I am sure with all of my 31 years of cleaning experience I could clean circles around him.

I was told by the IICRC I would have to pay quite a few bucks and take a bunch of classes to become certified again. I call foul on that since they went through so much turmoil I didn't feel I could trust them not to do it again.

I assume the mills are saying people have to use an IICRC cleaner and save every receipt of cleaning so they don't have to honor a lot of carpet warranties if there is ever an issue with the carpet that they purchased.

Bottom line is I have lost a lot of business because of the IICRC, so how am I supposed to feel about them?

You'll get more current and immediate answers to cleaning and marketing questions here than from a bunch of know it all failed business owners traveling the country living out of a suitcase. Most of them are just reps for suppliers anyways

I hear Higgins fleeced that organization so good he's living on a beach in Fiji and selling the wool pelts in his spare time

Whatever became of the building that the IICRC (supposedly) purchased in Lost Wages?/ (Las Vegas).

http://www.iicrc.org/iicrc-open-new-global-resource-center-a-84.html

I thought Jeff Bishop was getting the wheel back on the track??

Who else is involved & as already asked, what are their qualifications & by whom??

Yes, I also was a fully paid up member & certified firm, and was also told a similar line as Bob Savage regarding having to pay an "incentive" as well as do all of the classes again.

This was from in Australia and my enquiry took forever because they had to get authority from the 'states.

Consequently, I never re-joined & have been fairly bitter at being ripped off ever since.

Looking forward to further questions & responses patiently.

My brother spent last week at IAQ training. At dinner one of the other attendees representing a nearby hospital mentioned how well respected the IICRC is and how they hold the standards in high esteem. :eekk:

Dan knows little of the politics or scandals so he said little, just acknowledged it.

The certified firm status has always been a joke. There has never policing over this status. Theoretically, all the employees in the firm should be working towards certification but in reality, one employee takes a course, writes the test and the firm applies for certification status. Customer calls because of the status but gets joe blow, the new hire who has been cleaning carpet for all of one week on his own.

I'm sorry. I gave up on the whole iicrc thing. I'm busy enough running my business. I was looking into the CFI as a viable alternative. Good luck to you. Hope you guys get it turned around.

It's worse then cronyism, like many other self serving self made "institutions" it's made of individuals with an agenda, a business agenda. Got nothing to do with establishing and furthering a set of standards in many catagories related to cleaning and restoration. The instructors have businesses they want to promote either openly or deceptively. The people who endorse the IICRC have agendas of their own, all related to business and the spin of making money. It stinks of conflict and now it seems they just re-invent themselves with new players and continue to extort money from everyday working people. Is there no shame in this industry?

Nope, got an email from him just this morning.

First one for a couple of years.

Very brief, just asking a question.

Greetings,

Have you already read that news? It's incredible, I'm terrified, just read it here

Did not say where he is.

Don't ask for his address as I won't divulge it, others may.

I don't know why they are telling us to be patient. It's not that hard if you are so overwhelmed with so many phone calls, emails and testing then hire more people. If we were being overwhelmed with jobs we wouldn't tell the clients to be patient. We would be like hell yeah lets get another rig and tech.

Cody, please don't talk logic.

I find it pretty ironic that the day this video is posted, I get an email from Tony.

Do you think he may be silently monitoring MB??

Hmmm.

That would be like a predator stalking the innocent. :eekk:
