SS sent me a new pump but I couldn't get the clutch off in time for tomorrow's 9am whopper so I settled on switching the whole head out

Then ran out of light..

Wish me luck..

doesn't that have a 7/8 course thread in the center to push it off?

maybe 3/4"
run a threaded bolt in to push the clutch off the shaft

Turns out the new head was not the problem or fix.

As the pump heated up, pressure over 300 PSI would drop drastically. 600 psi would fall to 300 at 4 flow, at 8 flow it would drop to 150 or so.
Although the gauge looked and acted right at 300 the pressure felt weak.

Rick Aranda and Scott Harlib worked with me to find the fix. Every QC was replaced, every screen/filer cleaned, water softner bi-passed..

A second complete pump with clutch and chem pump was sent which fixed the issue.

The back/oil end of the original pump was somehow damaged in Vegas. Other than a burnt smell to the oil, and the pressure loss, there was no knocking or vibration. Hard to say what exactly failed within but I'm sure glad this is over with.

So questions still remaining, why doesn't the electric diverter valve divert all the heat? Why didn't the thermo-relief valve kick in at 160 degrees and save the pump?
