How would you handle a large job that a customer wants you to do? (20k plus S.F.)

This would be new carpet that needs to be extracted after construction of a new building,
it will have some sheet rock dust and dirt that was tracked in during the construction.

All I have to work with is my single TM and that would take forever.

Or rent 1 or 2 175 machines from your local supply store for a day, find 2 guys at Home Depot that speak English and have them move the machine back and forth. (Or hire 2 friends and pay them whatever to help you out). You can pre spray the area for them or show them how, and Viola! C'est la vie!

Depends how bad they leave it.

You may need someone picking up wires and another vacuuming with a back pack while a third hits the open area with a wide area vacuum.

That's a lot to clean but its really just dusty and you should be able to move fast. 1500sq/ft and hour? You'll need someone to switch time off at the wand with you.

I think its a three man job with one truck.

Monday we have 25k to clean but its all Cimex work. 4-Tech's cleaning and two helpers running solution and moving contents. Should take most of the morning. :winky:

I've done large jobs like this solo quite a lot. Get a good backpack vacuum (Pro-team supercoach) and extra filters. Don't skimp on the cord. If you need to go to a 100' make sure it's at least a 14 gauge wire, otherwise you may burn up the motor/switches. Empty the filters when suction is noticeably decreased- until they tear. Teach yourself to swivel at the waist to get another 2-3' of range on your vacuum stroke, don't just move your arms.
I recommend the CX-15 for commercial jobs.
Other than that-regular cleaning.
Vacuum everything first. Pre-spray manageable sections, scrub if needed, extract.
It will take you a 2 day moderately paced stint to do it solo.
Good luck!

You and a helper. 2 vacuums. You move the wand or zipper and the helpers job is to make sure the wand doesn't stop moving...so moving things out of your way, prespraying and pulling hose. Congratulations on landing a nice job!
