And while we're at it: Would someone please explain (or at least name it :winky:) to me what exactly goes in the brain of people who buy these kind of upholstery.

when they get tired of manning the fruit stand they relax, get drunk and procreate on the wonderful feel of velvet....

They live in the same community as Floyd Mayweather and Brittney Spears. I'm sure evreeything is for show. I'm sure the kids have spilled crap on it and she is blaming the previous cleaner when it might be her vinegar and water spot treatment.

Maybe I'm biased because my brother has an upholstery shop, but I have sent several customers to him to recover such pieces.

Always best to do that BEFORE you clean it, so YOU aren't paying.

These are stains on a viscose rug that was treated with some type of high end protector. This was carbonated mineral water that was spilled. Looks somewhat similar

So she can tell her friends in this golf community where the houses are no less than 4 million a piece that we are the BOMB.

We are definitely cleaning that rug for her, which she said was also MicroSeal'd by this high end cleaner. Mike suggested using the velvet brush on this with some distilled water first. It is pretty awkward how they didn't brush all the fibers the same way. Even with microfiber easy to clean couches we brush all the fibers the same way to dry even.

This high end cleaner told her that she should only clean spots/spills with Vinegar and Water. I'm wondering if that is from her attempting to clean with it.
I was wondering when that rug would come up!!!:biggrin:

You should get a fair amount of jewelry, hairpins coins and whatever else out of it.:biggrin:

Had a custy like that. several shags. modern Flokatis, (crate and Barrel) refused to have them sent out. Housekeeper(the only person I had contact with at the residence) hated em because she could not properly vacuum. I tokd her the best thing to do with those rugs was take them out back , throw them into the pool, then lay them out on the tennis court!! TRUE THAT!

Update:

The customer said the designer sent her details of this couch. It is 50% rayan and 50% cotton. The company she used prior she spoke with today and they said that is just how the couch is and they are not responsible. Here is the product he sent her that he cleaned it with.

That product contains no water and shouldn't cause distortion. Some use "dry-wet-dry techniques" from ages ago that can prevent bleeding, but do not prevent distortion.

My guess is that they used the solvent, didn't think it was cleaning well enough, then did a "light wet cleaning" with foam or extraction, and despite what they thought, caused the distortion.

Another thought:

Have you seen the piece yourself or did she send this picture? Solvent darkens fabrics but dries fine...is it still this dark?
