Time to get new vacuum hose, I have I few questions before I buy.

1. I was told that not all hose is built equally
Not just about quality but also air flow.
What tipe/brand should I get and where to buy?

2. 99% or the time I run 100', Right now I am usisng 50' of 2" and 50' of 1.5"
Should I get a 100' of 2"?

3. Whip or no whip of so how long?

Thanks

If you're trying to maximize flow, you may want to get rid of the whip as it restricts flow. Unless the convenience outweighs the vac loss, though at a 100 feet with a good blower you're likely to have plenty of lift and flow.

I like the first hose to be 75 feet, as in many houses that will get the end to be outside the house. A hundred will definitely do it and less fiction (less cuffs) but will be more cumbersome to carry in. All personal preferences.

lol better vac hose baby!

If your going to wimp out, I mean Whip it out.

Go 10 feet.

Olson also sells the 2 inch the goes down to 1.5.

I personally would lose the whip and only use it on steps with a 1 1/2 inch tool.

And maybe 10 feet tops, my whip is 4 feet for certain tile tools and also connects my shear dry upholstery tool.

Dang it I had a long post and deleted it grrr... Call me and I can help you out. We have 100' lengths of 2" so you could eliminate having an cuffs and have zero failure points. The 1.5" hose severally reduces the volume of airflow and airflow creates lift and you want lift. If you really feel you cant control the 2" hose then reduce your whip to no more then 10'. That's my not so humble opinion :)

If you need the whip, go with 75 ft of 2 inch and buy the 25 ft tapered 2-1 1/2 inch hose from John. Best compromise available.

In that case a 100 no cuffs (when adding two 50's), no whip.
Tough it out :winky:

And a 2" wand as well.
Make a short whip for the stair tool and upholstery tool (the SS will fit a 2" hose.)

Whips are for PUSSIES!

That is all.

Ok ok if you must use 1.5, cut that puppy down to a reasonable length.

I'd do (2) 50 footers and a 15 foot wimp...I mean whip. :winky:

You need the balance of flexibility(car wash stuff is nice and light, but it crimps) and the other stuff that is too stiff.. Good vac hose lasts for years, get the best!
