Finally had a chance to break out the VIBE on a banquet hall.

Pretty impressed for the most part with both the machine and with the overall results of my first major Encap/Padcap job..

Machine is buttery smooth and was a breeze to work with.

Only feature that bugged me was the twist on tank lid which was a little hard to remove at times due to it's lack of surface that offers a solid gripping point, especially when a little wet.

Easy fix for any Magyver.

Results were on par with the results from a previous HWE on the same hall.

Overall time was reduced by almost 1/3 compared to HWE, and a lot less physically demanding than slinging a porty, a wand and a 175.

Everything was pretreated with my IPS using AwesomeEncap @4oz/G on half the room and Environ HP @4oz/G on the other half and then scrubbed with Agiclean pads, and then followed it up with SuperZorbs, both passes using the on-board sprayer system and half an overlap.

I did not use any weights, but I think it would have benefited me if I slapped on another 20LBS.

There were many spots and areas that did not respond well enough with passes from the unweighted head, but that I was able to improve with passes made while pushing the handle upwards to transfer some of the weight load from the wheels to the head and grind into them a little harder.

We did 2/3 of the place yesterday and finished up the last part today, and immediately was reminded of how important THOROUGH pre-vacuuming is when using anything other than HWE.

With no wand to suck up anything missed vaccuming, especially along the corners, a lot more time must be set aside to carefully vacuum each section before it is sprayed down and it is too late, because that will be the only chance to do it.

So the whole area had to be vacuumed again with a lot more attention to detail......Lesson learned.

I think a small powerful shop-vac would probably be a good idea on big commercial jobs as well as an upright, especially for corners and along walls when you don't have the luxury of taking care of them with your wand.

Even got Nate's favorite lil' Oreck some stair action.

Any Cimex experience there Frank?

Not yet, but a Cimex did come into my mind a few times wondering how much weight the head was and how much more volume of solution it could put down, and what the obvious benefit it would be.

There's gotta be some magic in simultaneously working up a heavy foam and working it deep down like a Cimex appears to do, which does not seem possible with a squirting jiggler.

So Frank, which chem do you think did better, the awesome encap or the orbot environ chem?

I've been debating on weather or not to try the awesome encap

I currently have and been using encap chems from Vacaway, bonnet pro and the Releasit chems
which are all very good

So unless this awesome encap is a lot better then any of them I see no reason to carry it as well

I don't even wanna carry all three of the ones i mentioned above but am having a hard time deciding which to cut as i like them all

By the way i have the Vibe to and love that thing so far

Awesome is a Vacaway product

Yea I figured it was, but I was just going by the labeling on the product as it is the same as vacaway plus I remember being told by the seller that vacaway does make it for them.
'That being the case i see no reason to order any to try if i'm already using vacaway products, I was going to because i liked that it has a citrus/orange sent, but then i noticed on vacaway site they have one there as well with the citrus/orange sent, so i'll just get that instead

I used a gallon works great.

But they all do really.

The problem with VacAway products is the polymer dries so damn hard that if not rinsed from equipment REAL well , it can clog them all to hell

and if the Jani staff does not use a brush roll vac the next day , you may get calls complaining about the carpet having what looks like dandruff...

It's always a good idea to rinse out and flush any equipment you run an encap chem thru, i always do this weather it was a sprayer, my Vibe or whatever, I drain it put hot tap water in it and run it to flush it out.

However i have not ever gotten a call complaining about the carpet having what looks like dandruff.
But i have gotten a couple of calls about the carpet being a little stiff

I really did not notice a difference between the two juices.

The AwesomeEncap had a little better scent, but no oxidizer like the Environ.

It can be hard to compare products without side by side comparisons on the same job.

I find it easier to just commit to one "premium" product and adjust dilutions or boost as needed so you can better establish familiarity with a specific product as far as what it can do.

As far as boosting encap juice, I am curious what the limitations are if any.

Mikey recommends boosting with ammonia, which I am curious about why it is a good choice with encap products as opposed to using some common boosters that would be used with HWE.

I assume rinse ability and potential of residue would have something to do with it due to the lack of a more thorough "extraction" process like with HWE, so there must be that concern, but to what level can the encapsulating properties of the polymer counter that issue of using a booster that might have the concern of potential residues?

With that lid I just put screwed a cheap handle that you can get at a hardware store on. Still think all of you guys doing this scampooing are way over thinking it. Use this product , use this for that, change pads bla bla bla.

I use a battery sprayer with 100 psi to spray out areas with a large flow and bonnet clean them. No over thinking on my part. Scampooing is NOT rocket science.

I inherited some Vacaway products when I bought my used Sprayborg. One product is Shatter and the other is for heavy grease, I forget the name. On one particulary grimy job where I had heavy traffic areas in front of the elevators and bathrooms, I mixed them together and it did an awesome job. Appearance level was much better than what I get with scrubbing and flushing with crb and tm. So much so, the staff commented on it next day. I have been using Bridgpoint products but I wouldn't mind trying some more Vacaway products. Who sells them?

Yea your right there "just commit to one "premium" product and adjust dilutions or boost as needed" But that is the problem I have as I can't decided between Vacaway, Bonnet pro and the releasit chems.

But i'm close to narrowing it down

BONNET PRO
Revive it rocket citrus oxy encap detergent…………..37.25 gal
Surround Ultra Encap Detergents With Pro fresh…………….36.00 gal

VACAWAY
Detonator………………………………………………………..24.00 gal
Hot Knife Extreme…………………………………………..40.75 gal
Comercial Magic………………………………………………52.50 gal

Excellent Supply
Releasit ENCAP-HYDROX ……………………………….34.42 gal
Releasit ENCAP-CLEAN DS2 ………….………………..41.75 gal

This is what I will be using to start, if you think thats a lot Believe me when i tell you i have more different chems then that now
so that list is narrowing it down a bit, then i will adjust from there

The two from bonnet pro will most likely stay because the
Revive it rocket citrus oxy encap detergent works great and the
Surround Ultra Encap Detergents With Pro fresh works good to and smells to good not to use, lol

Most likely will cut the hot knife extreme from vacaway and keep the commercial magic as It has a nice citrus/orange sent and although i haven't used it yet, i'm sure it will work as good as or better then the hot knife it's a High pH Encapsulating Encap (its a new product)

Then will cut one from excellent supply so that will get me down to 5 products from my above list of 7
as a hole it will get me down from the 12 encaps i now have to just 5.

Now just don't get me started on all my HWE products, lol as I need to trim that down as well
There's just way too many chems out there, it can drive a guy crazy

one of these days i'm gonna go to one of the local carpet stores that sell and install carpet and dumpster dive and find
the nastiest carpet i can, bring it home, lay it out in my driveway and do side by side test with all the different chems i have and post a video.

Just don't have the time to do it know

Hot knife, that was the other one I mixed with the Shatter. Great combo.

Stick with a crystallizer instead of a film former. At least in theory you can say it does vacuum out. Can't say that with a film former. I say film formers are old school shampoo formulas without the extensive foaming qualities.

Again I say don't over think this simple method with stupid pad choices and mix this and mix that.
Just spray it down and pad or bonnet it.
