so I am ready for a new wand. My local interlink buddy is having his annual customer appreciation day in a few weeks. I'm eying the prochem titanium 14" w 2 " tube. Should I go slot or hole glide? I've been slinging a prochem quad for 10years now. I have both glides and like the slotted glide better on the quad wand.
Oh and I run an Everest. Looking forward to a lighter wand. What do you guys think?

I like hybrid glides. (even though I vacuum every carpet..true story)

With that said: If I could get my hands on a holy glide, I'd pay top dollar for it. I mean you don't everyday come accross a holy glide.

I do have reservations however...are we allowed to use those anywhere or only church cleanings?

as Ofer mentioned, slot cleans better
Actually, glideless cleans best..but a Ti wand can be a man killer on some (many) carpets w/o a glide

You know you can make your own glides out of PVC pipe for pennies.
To me glides mean restricted suction/airflow, multiple drying passes vs less for unglided and it means your blower will be under constant stress with no relief as it tries to suck thru those tiny holes. Not to mention stress on your entire TM system.

I prefer hybrid. I've had my eye on that same wand. Time for me to man up and get rid of the old 12" Hydrahoe.

Yes. Only usable on church glue down.

You have no freakin idea what you're talking about

I most certainly do, Sally
I notched my Ti wand in '06 for quick easy glide change on the fly
Owned/ran all three glides

hole on CGD mostly
Slot for pretty much everything else
Hybrid was a "tweener" ..not as good as slot nor as good as the hole for it's niche .
It never got used after the first month

Since 2003/2004'ish I've ran the big trucks with prochem ti wands and green glides. I like to drill the holy glides out a little holier then thou. I would sling a slot 100% of the time if it didn't beat me into the ground but then again some clean freak custy's love the dry times of the hole glides and so do I.

It's been a few weeks now that I purchased a new wand. I got the SS 1.5" ti wand, it only comes with a slot glide currently and Lisa is in the works for a hole glide. I love the slot on this because it fits the corn kernels and air-soft pellets. Only problem is it's harder to move this slot glide wand then the bigger brother prochem ti. Oh the pleasures of way too much vacuum. Mikey was right on the ss 1.5 I must say however, it's sweet and light as a feather.

I've ran hybrids for years too I just don't like the marks it leaves and have to groom 100% where a bigger holed out glide can tend to groom some carpets pretty nice and better dry times. It's slot or holes for me depending on the job.
