Haze on Tile

What is the most common cause for haze on new construction porcelain tile?

How hare will it be to fix?

I have not seen it yet, but will go take a look this afternoon and may have some photos
I was told it's brand new construction porcelain tile that looks like a wood floor.

Likely some of the grout smeared onto the tile.

Clean with an acid side cleaner such as Viper Renew. A little dwell time. If it is very heavy, scrub with brush on 175 or similar type of agitation. Rinse while wet. Don't let it dry on the surface or you will be doing it over again.

A common problem on new construction clean up jobs.

Make sure you get paid for the time and trouble to fix this

Jesse, look closely at the grout lines to see if they are anything but even and smooth. If the grout was poorly applied, the cleanup will be subpar and you may de dealing with vinyl additive smearing, possibly epoxy smearing, or just plain cement haze. Alcohol, acetone, Viper Venom, in that order. If you can't tell the difference in grouts, take all three and do a wipe test.
Then again, it could be as stupidly simple as mop residue from the sheetrock dust! Good luck!

Many of these tiles, wood plank, have defects in them,

Make sure to test for desired results

Now that I looked at it I could not see any haze really. The customer was complaining that you could see foot prints on the tile.

If there is haze on this tile it is very hard to see.

It should be very easy to see.

Sounds as if soap residue was left o n the tile. You'd only see the footprints from the right angle in the right light.

Depends on the time of day. If new home owner is seeing it they probably see it in the evening when the sun is going down. It may not be visible in the morning or early afternoon.
