Few days pass that I don't think of the friend so many of us lost on September 1, 2013.

None of us are angels, but few have appealed, if I may paraphrase Lincoln, to the "better angels of our nature" by example and deeds, than did Ken Snow.

Thank you for being a part of my life Ken. There will always be an empty place in this world that no one else will ever fill.

But there is a better place in all of us who knew you, because you were in our lives.

I had a person contact me yesterday that had worked for Ken and the Original Hagopian...

He left for another market and area (managing another company now)

Kind of surreal.....

Was a great conversation and great conversation about Ken. He really enjoyed his time with Hagopian and with Ken....

Imagine how surprised I was on the day of our sons funeral, a strange number came up on my phone. ....
It was Ken
Asking if I would mind if he came. ..
Not only was he there but sent a beautiful spray of flowers
I was so proud to introduce Ken to my family. ....
He was so gracious and compassionate everyone asked later
Who was that. .....
Of course I didn't know that Ken would be gone a short month later!

Ken spent several hours on the phone coaching me the first year I was in this industry. I never had the pleasure of meeting him in person.

I have a folder with my notes from our conversations. I pulled out an email he sent me on buying media last month and gave it to one of my staff members to read. The best quote was " they are all liars". He was right.

I miss Ken too!

Several times at the experience tradeshow and convention we would have dinner together and then stroll the trade show floor. I remember asking Ken one time - hey Ken, why do you come on these boards, often times knowing that you are going to have to take it in the chops? Ken's reply - I enjoy it, it's like Voyeurism. One dinner in particular was at a steak house in the Vegas Hilton. Ken, his beautiful lady friend Marcy, myself and my now ex were enjoying a nice steak dinner. I could see a fire in his eyes for the love that he had for Marcy. Not only that , he loved her son who meant the world to him. So anyway, I made it a point to tell the waitress to give me the bill for the diner. As it turned out, Ken had already talked to her long before we were even seated and told her that he was paying. At the time I honestly thought - what an asshole. I invited you and Marcy to diner and I wanted to pay. Nonetheless, that was Ken Snow and that was just the way in which he rolled.

A couple of times during the tradeshow and convention Ken would find me at my booth and ask....hey pal, you got a minute to sneak out? The sneaking out was to have a smoke and we usually walked way past the entrance area of the hotel.

Finally, the true friend and man that we all knew as Ken Snow would either call me, or I would call him simply to touch base and the first words out of his mouth were always the same; hey Pal, how is Sara doing? My young daughter was fighting the battle of her life against cancer and survived and I can honestly attest that had it not been for Ken raising my spirits during those difficult times, I honestly don't think I would have made it!

I learned of Kens passing from this very forum. One early morning I was sitting on my patio enjoying a cup of coffee and my girlfriend Deb came out and asked me why I was crying. I responded by telling her that Ken was gone. She had heard me on telephone calls many times with Ken, but had never had he pleasure of meeting him.

I miss Ken and the love that he had for our industry, including some of the BDCC that busted his chops, my daughter Sara, myself and so many others.

RIP Pal!

Ivan

I wasn't doing any posting back then, obviously, but he was impressive. I even googled him and listened to him sing, when someone mentioned he sang. He was good. He had talent. I was upset when he passed away as if I knew him. See all lurkers aren't bad.

Ken is one of the few people I think about almost every day. A great friend, who sang at my wedding, who I was glad to know. I wish he could have met my kids...
