Cleaning unventilated stair wells on the hottest day of summer. Standing in the cloud of steam with sweat dripping off you faster than the cleaning solution coming out of your jet. Realizing that you have 2 more 4 story staircases to go. Wondering if you really need such a hot truck mount.

House by the water have a stairway to the main floor, another stairway to the bedroom floor and sometimes another stairway to the top family room...for the view. Carrying up the vacuum, the CRB, the wand and the hoses, chemicals...pre-sprays...oops forgot the furniture blocks...need the spotter I never use and another trip up and down the stairs. Stairs.

And then when you think you are finished, they say, "oh by the way, can you clean these 2 sectional sofas while you are here?"
No! But we can schedule that for another day.

I hate the pissy stairs because my face is to close to it.

But my allergies have gotten real bad so I don't like those houses I walk into and my allergies kick in. Like the urine it makes my face hurt.

Are you using a CRB? If you are you should be able to turn your temps down quite a bit.

Three story towhouses. Upholstery in a home where the AC is not cranked up. When they add tiny little rugs or long thin runners when all I've got is the trex. Almost out of the house and almost out of prespray....so you have to allocate it...meaning there is not enough to make your job as easy as it would be.

If it makes your job any easier, put a male qc connected to a short pipe in your pocket, and if your prespray runs low, just shoot some more water in your jug. It’ll be weaker, but it’ll get you through the job

When your doing Flood work for PM in an apartment and the neighbor tenant wants you to clean her place. You tell her that your minimum is $150 but you don’t clean occupied apartments. The tenant gets all pissed off and tells you Stanley Steamer has a $99 deal. You then reply, “That’s Stinky Stramer’s bread and butter. You should probably call them.”

Yup, that was my day.

Equipment breakdowns, defective transfer pumps and Quick connectors.
And people who are insatiable, and they sorta get enjoyment from being miserable and making other people miserable.
For example:
Customer- " it didn't clean as well as I expected"
Tech-- "ok would you like me to re clean it again at no charge?"
Customer-- "no, that's ok"
Me thinking-- I guess you unlike being unhappy or just like complaining.

Working in a house and the rather attractive lady of the house comes out of the bathroom and the STANK fills the whole house. I tell my son's that never fall in love with a woman till you smell her farts and whether you can live with that.

Barking dachshunds... Or other stupid small dogs.

That just wont stop!
Or the 90lb. dog that keeps jumping on you and the 40lb. long haired cat that rubs up against you at the same time!!!

But the geriatric house with 99dg. thermostat is prolly more torture!! #ihateresidential

Let me help you. We'll get done sooner. Or, I decided since your here we'll go ahead and move the furniture and the custom bed I made. Let me go out to my shop and make some movers on casters. And he used my tools cuz his shop is way far away on his property.

As far as heat goes, nothing worse than what you just mentioned.

It's a slow descent into Hell.

Nice big roll of paper towels and an extra shirt will be your best friends.

I learned the hard way..... put 2 large snail fans on top level, door open, and 2 on ground floor..... Like a summer breeze @ the beach..... just try it.....

We charge a lot more than that. Especially at the end of the day. And we expect free cold beer too.
I do work for an apt building. I only really want the halls/common spaces. The manager wants me to do ALL the building work. We all know how that goes..... anywho, cleaning an occupied the other day, the lady from the floor above pops her head in the door, and said ‘ when you are done, can you come up and do my 2 bedroom s, hall, and LR, I’ll give you 25$ under the table’..... I laughed and said ‘no, the charge is 175 $........’
