Today is a happy day for me. I know it may not be a big deal to some of you ballers, but today I logged my 700th customer. It was a challenge getting there because every time I would get close, I would need to archive 5-10 people. I feel the number is pretty accurate as far as active viable customers. I've been blessed with some pretty large repeat accounts. I can't wait to see where the next few years takes me .

How many of the 700 have used you twice or more?

Lots, I also have clients that manage over 3,000 homes and I think I may have just picked up about 6,000 more in the Chico area. God help me! They keep me pretty busy. Then there are the assisted living centers and other commercial businesses that keep me hopping. Each one of those I count as a single customer, but give me tons of work. Right now I believe i'm sitting at a 47% repeat rate within 1 year time period. I attribute that to my SendJim account. I think it's higher if I run it out past a year. I can't convince everyone to repeat twice a year. I have some that only want it done every two years, but I still count them as my active customers. I just did a guy last week whom I last cleaned 5 years ago. I don't know how people can go that long.

I think it's only going to get better.

Sounds to me like you're doing great, Damon. Congratulations.

Next step- call Boyle about how to invest your savings. I can clearly see Aruba in your future.

Nope, that was Miss Kitty on Gunsmoke.
I always thought Miss Kitty was ugly. I never got that. Why couldn't they have cast Julie Newmar.

I'll just add one thing. I really consider my customer list as an active list. I know a lot of guys bash on Gurus, but I joined Howard Partridge's inner Circle. I flew out to Houston with my assistant and we went through his Marketing Seminar. I did the coaching with him and Santiago. I got to pick his brain and ask the dumb questions. I consider Howard a friend and was very appreciative of his time and openness. The guy conducts himself with class and is as even keeled as they come. Not like me, Where I fly off and start throwing stuff.

Some things come easily to people, and some things need to be taught. Much of what I was doing with my business just came to me naturally. But Howard really showed me the importance or relationship building. He showed me to look at each customer as a referral source and how to calculate approximately how much that customer is worth to me over the lifetime of my business. I was shown a system in keeping them for life and getting their friends for life.

So Mike, when you asked me how many customers I have that are repeats, I don't know if you are being snarky, but I'm playing for keeps. I'm in constant contact with 700 people on my books. I have over 200 archived.

A low price leader in any service industry can have thousands of 1 time customers, right?
I do love the urine :) But i'm no low price leader. .40 resi, .25 commercial. .35 when i'm nice. .20 on large jobs, .18 VLM over 10k sqft.

But if your daughter ever called me, I would clean for free.

How are you at bong water removal?
Lol-- I remember the 1st time I seen that type of stain. I was doing the pre-inspection walk through with the adult daughters and I was shown the stain in their Adult brothers room. They and I, didnt know what it was at 1st. Upon seeing the stain I said, "I don' think I can legally clean that stain-- did somebody DIE at this spot?-- they looked at each otber and laughed.
After a closer look I figured out it was bong water.
I was told it became am amusing topic at the familie's Thanksgiving dinner.

Compared to your prices in the magical wonderland you live in, it's a low price. But everywhere else...his prices are decent.

It bugs the sh** out of me to see someone compare their market to a market with a bunch of poor families in it

First off I was not talking about Damon's biz in specific, Redding is not full of poor families, lots of rich pots growers actually.

and he charges more than I do in Nevada.

I am so ducking sick of all the MMJ crap. Seriously. It really bothers me. I see how these growers mess up the homes, The landlords are no longer allowed to kick tenants out due to growing, makes my van stink for days, and generally attract low life’s to the neighborhood.

Sorry, I don’t want to offend any carpet cleaner pot growers out there.

You should smell my van when I blow my hit into the hose. Amazes me how the smell seems stronger in the van lol.

And I'm impressed Damon. I hate the business end of things. All I do is email invoices on the computer otherwise I'm still pen and paper.
