RPM gauge on Vortex

working on the vortex. The RPM gauge doesn't reliably.
Does anyone know how I determine what is wrong? Is it the guage or sensor?
Where's the RPM sensor located on the engine?
Where do I purchase the gauge or sensor?

I think you ment the fresh water tank.
That happened when the float switch failed and overfilled the tank. and or when tank was full and we were on a steep hill. I don't overfill the tank anymore.

I haven't seen the back of that panel in years...

just got a cold chill down my spine....

You have quite a bit of oxidation in that panel box and on the terminals.

A stiff brush would clean some-most of that off I would hope.
