anyone use lay flat/poly tubing for p/u, or more importantly for delivery? I have been very busy with area rugs. I process 6-10 a week. My problem is, how do I show the client that their rug not only has been cleaned, but upon return, it looks as if they just bought it? I’ve now got a custom built rug pit, and a drying room, with 3 ground to ceiling pulleys, and 5 stationary spots. I’ve processed about 27-30 rugs, and everyone of them have turned out great. The guy I used to take all of them to, is now @ 7 weeks on just one rug..... that lead time is unacceptable to me. It forced my hand into doing them myself. Anywho, how do you present the finished product to your client?

If it's only for transport, people have used layflat and zip tie both ends... Rule of thumb, you shouldn't store any natural fiber rugs in any plastic materials...

I use 1 mil plastic tubing. I buy in large rolls and cut to size. I just tie the ends. I poke holes in either end to let it breathe. Keeps the rug clean until I get it to the customer.

I know about not storing in plastic. Last year, I had a call from a lady who had a rug cleaned by another company. When they brought it back to her, she was remodeling her house. She pulled the rug out of storage, (was all wrapped up in garbage bags), it was mouldy and rotten..... she called them back, and they said ‘not our problem, you should know not to store it in plastic’....

Where on the LM do you get it Ron? I was looking @ ULine, and can buy it in bulk....

Unitrend plastics in Ladner. Expensive but last a long time. I buy 2 rolls at a time. If you are going to order, let me know. I may order at the same time and see if we can get a discount.

I will PM you Ron. I down with bulk discounts..... I was thinking getting a smaller diameter for the ‘ up to 5x8’s, and a larger one, for everything else.
