Curious how much water our truckmount use in a 4 room and a hall cleaning(average sized rooms). I have freshwater tank on my van but curious to see water a customers water bill would be if i used her faucet to hook up.

how much do you use for a typical 4 rm'r?

depending how bad/how well it needed flushed, anywhere from 40 to 70 gal

did some googling on water prices

http://www.pvwc.com/story_of_water/html/costs.htm

The average price of water in the United States is about $1.50 for 1,000 gallons. At that price, a gallon of water costs less than one penny.

If a custy was concerned about how much the water cost to clean their carpet, I'd give a 43 cent discount on the invoice

We did the math during one of our phony water shortages (an excuse to raise rates) and found the typical cleaning would use just over four cents worth of water. I told the techs if anyone asks, give them a dime and tell them they doubled their money.

I've estimated $.01-.02 per gallon in my area.

Yes, a lot of people's water bills are high, but if they look they usually have fees of $20+/- for water and $20+/- for sewer on each bill no matter how much water they actually use.

Having a well water sucks as far as drinking. For everything else, sooo much better.

And yes Josh, I've had a couple weirdo's be real concerned about their water bill. What's funny is it's not the normal folks, it's the fancy homes who have asked, loaded older ladies.

not sure why it loaded sideways but that's two months worth. I use only my water from home for cleaning. They say we have some of the best water in Michigan.

9800 gallons for under $20.

It's Michigan water of course it's good. Well as long as it's not near Flint.

When I did water damage, we would have people complain about their electric bills to the point where we would calculate how many kilowatt hours we used with the drying equipment so they could be reimbursed. I wonder if there is an exactimate line item for that?

When ever a customer show's me where to hook up my fresh water hose I tell them a professional never hooks up to a customers house , then they look at me and say , well the last guy did and I look at them and raise my eyebrows and just stare at them.

In the late 1990's we cleaned several stores in a large shopping mall. The water meter for the whole place went to the large anchor store. They insisted we track water usage. Total of 1400 gallons used for the entire project. Cost at their commercial rate was 7 cents. I gave the manager a dime and told him to keep the change.
