The simpler and $1000 less 3.7 has the right gearing for our hills but no limited slip..
But dual doors which would be nice for waste tank cleaning and possibly some storage of thin items, as well as extra ventilation on hot days..



The 3.5 turbo has dual batteries, hd alternator, 110 outlet and limited slip, plus all the extras to go wrong..

so I'll ask a few questions

what makes the 3.5 engine worth the extra $2k ?
Longevity?
better acceleration via turbo?
(and is the power negated somewhat w/3.31 gear axle over the 410 gear when loaded with all the stuff a Jedi cleaning warrior packs?)


what dual axle trailers are you towing than makes the brake controller and tow package attractive to you?

You know that whole Saiger debacle with the new truck has me wondering if they've got a new supplier for starters (read "a cheaper supplier").

We went through a 6 year nightmare with GM fuel pumps which has hopefully been fixed. (Our 2010 GMC 3500 is on its 5th fuel pump. But there's probably another problem right around the corner.

Its only $1,000.00 get the turbo and limited slip. Not sure that that adds to it but 1k more. However at this point get it anyway!

The guys will love the extra speakers.

Can you order it with the gearing, turbo, and doors you desire? Without the crap you do not need?

You must be an oil changing ninja with a turbo, turbos are not resistant to neglect.

Personally if you plan on keeping it a while I'd order with what you want. I have to buddies that work in service at my local ford garage and they love the 3.5. That being said the 3.7 with that gearing should do ok on your hills. I have the 3.31 with the 3.5 in mine and love it. It pulls my mountain here just fine. I also ordered mine with the dual batteries and upgraded alternator as well as the tow package. The dual sliding doors was a must for what I wanted to do but for you it will just be a convenience. Rememember with the dual sliding doors you have a step down on each side.

I would stay away from any turbo. Crank case fumes routed to blow onto the valves before combustion spells trouble.

I was quoted 2-3 months but showed up a lot earlier then expected. I think sometimes they quote longer to encourage you to buy from their stock. I still didnt pay sticker price even though it was ordered in. I think i got like 5g off MSRP plus $1000 upfit assistance.

About 20 years ago I bought a Pontiac Transport minivan. I called 26 dealers, found about 7 dealers that had just the van I was looking for, then compared price and took the lowest.

My point is maybe you can broaden your horizons and find something else you like better, even if you have to drive a little farther. When I spend that kind of money, I don’t just settle!

I do envy the fun shopping. I don’t have a reason to get a new van at this stag of my carpet cleaning career.
