The church i belong to asked me to clean the carpet, and pews.... 6000 sqft of wool W/W, and 96 27’ long pews... AND, the little kneeling things in front of each pew.... SS for the uph, and Cimex for the carpet.... me, and a helper, I figure 10 hrs... gonna be sore tomorrow night....

I did a Catlick church for close to twenty years ...the big Cathedral. .the rectory ...the big assed school and some big buildings i had no clue wtf they were.....
Funny thing. ....when i gave the estimate i made a big mistake. ...
Somehow i doubled the amount. ....they paid an exorbitant amount of money every summer when the school let out..
Hey what was i supposed to do say ...ohh btw I've been gouging you for years.....heres all yor money back...

I felt justified in screwing THEM as i knew they were......ohh you know!

I think it's gonna take you a lot longer than 10hrs to just those pews only. It took me 10hrs to do less than the pews you're doing by themselves, and I had a helper jump in the last 4hrs of the job.

I'd reserve 2 and a half days for this one if I were you.

I'd sure be dual tooling them
I'd have a three man crew too

if fabric allows, glided large/long stair tool (lowered PSI) on the flats
Upl tool follow-up detail rounds/corners/edges
third man wiping wood and any dribbles that hit the floor (assuming hard surface between pew rows)...as they are here

they'd look bran'new when I was done ..fo-reel

he's scrub 'n run scampooing the carpet ...so a couple/three hours smearing gunk around the wool would be all the time needed there
(don't know what his are for candle wax) :headscratch:

if just one SS tool on all those pews and kneel pull downs......he's gonna be there minute that's for sure
Or he'll be blowing thru them doing little more than making them wet .....

PEE-ESS

the SS is a PITA to clean tight rounds( like will be found on the kneel pull downs)

PMF internal jet tool is better
Have I mentioned it's one of the greatest Upl tools in the history of the world??

well it is ....

I strongly suggest using 2 upholstery tools before you use a stair tool

why?

turn down PSI to 200 or so on a glided tool

the long pole Greenie stair tool works great
(be better if a 1.5" tube lighter wt tool)
So does the light and nimble AW29 wand believe it or not
12" head covers two to three times per stroke too

foolish not to use a more productive tool on the long straight flats when fabric allows

I'd split it into two days also. Why kill yourself, you'll be toast the next day too.

Two stair tools would definitely help. If your machine can't pull that off, then I'd switch off operators ever couple of hours to get a break. Second day finish up the pews and catch the carpet.

You can hit any wax spots the second day while the other guy is Encapping.

That's a lot of work!

The pews have a front nose and side edge that a stair tool can’t clean. At least that’s my experience. You still have to stop, hook up an upholstery tool, and clean the edges. No time saver there. Just have someone in front prespraying and wiping down overspray, and a person using another tool

Pay attention Skippy
Flats with large tool that covers two to THREE times as much per stroke.
Detail rounds and edged with upl tool

If it takes you THAT long to change a tool, and large tool wanding on flats doesn't increase productivity by 33.877%, you should be flipping bergers for a living...

Man, must be an upscale outfit. My church doesn't have padded pews. And only the kneelers at the front of the church. (think they are trying to tell us something.?, as in don't hang out in the back)

Catholics have cushions?

Luxury!

‘Round here we make do with oak benches, AFTER walking 10 miles uphill both ways.

Ok, 11.5 hrs, AND I FOOKIN HATE WAX..... went through 1/2 gal of oil-flo.... and rinsed like there’s no tomorrow.... excuse me while I pour a drink....
You did good!

I thought about you several times today. We had a warehouse flood over 50,000sq/ft of 100,000 affected 5 tms ran for 10 hours. I was there for most of it. My ass was dragging and I kept thinking how much you had today also.

11.5 for what you had is great!

I love it. That’s mainly what I do everyday. All my Commercial accounts are Catholics schools and churches:biggrin: 30yrs. 35-40k per month. That’s why I hate residential, although I cleaned carpet in one of the rectories today. I only tell you the amount to tell you how good they’ve been to me, and not Catholic:biggrin:
