I went for a motorcycle ride today and cleaned a piss soaked vacant. Loving my new intercom system on the bike. My son and I could actually have a conversation. I found this is great bonding time riding around with him. He can’t play on his iPad. He just sits back there and chirps like a little bird.

went out to talk with a guy that wants part of his basement finished
he's a bit unrealistic about what he'll need in the budget to do what he wants.
Just the laminate flooring material alone he wants (not including labor) ate up half his budget..
and that's before the first wall goes up
no sir, you can't get 700sf of raw basement to look just like your upstairs rooms for $5000
Not if you want finished walls/rooms, doors, molding, closets, finished ceilings with recessed lights ..an'all

I did that for years, many years, way back when. I also did complete house construction, from the footers to the roof (using subs). It was a cool time learning what I did.
Most of them want a lot for nothing,
Can't happen!
And the killer to all this is to beware of the things you didn't think would occur, and then they did.
So sometimes after you refine your price to where you will still be making some money, and they still say it's too much, you walk, and thank the Lord you didn't fall into that trap.

Thought I would have a lazy Sunday afternoon, recuperating from this cold, watching some of my favorite sports on TV but no. Property manager calls me with a flood job. Luckily, it's just up the street from me. I wouldn't have the energy to go much further. One suite and one small commercial unit below it. When the cheque comes in, maybe I'll feel better.

Honey, organic lemon (cut up the entire thing), ginger (a nub the size of your thumb), and green tea.... steep 10 min, drink the pot, fill again.... drink it until you can’t..... you’ll be better in 2-3 days..... A/R... I’m sitting on over 15k right now... need it to come in....

Started in '01 in a big way
By 2010 CCing got to be a PITA more than anything due to limited man power and scheduling .
I didn't have time to be on the truck, and the only suitable man I had for res got a better buck union job in early 2013
didn't make cents for me to reinvest $40-$50k plus to replace the worn out TM and rusted van.
I let the CCing end wither on the wine for years til I finally pulled the plug on all of it a year or two ago
