After taking everyone’s advice into consideration, I bought a 360 I over a Trex Jr or RX20, and while it did clean well, it feels like a flimsy tinker toy piece of junk that won’t stand up to years of abuse. Also wondering what pressure people are running them at , Rotovac recommended 350-400 psi max but that seems way too low.

Just used to my old 175 and stainless steel tank wand, it did clean the crap out of the carpet though, even ran it at 600 in one of the rooms and it still dried in about 15 minutes. They really should make the tubing chromoly like the stuff on the turbo tile tool though, it’s so flimsy I can feel the tubing flexing when it’s fully extended, for the price it should be higher quality.

work on getting that dry time down 15 min is just not acceptable.

Impossible actually if using HWE
unless you use the "ken Harris" definition
Ie touch the carpet and no water drips off hand
(Foreel that's what he said once)

Otherwise, you'd need a mega fan on every square yard to come close to "honest" 15 min dry time

I was talking to Ron @Cleanworks last night about this very thing. These guys that claim to run 750psi, with a 12 flow, and they say they get 30 min- 1 hr dry times.... BULLSHIT! Yeah, if the room temp is 110F, and there is a 100mph cross wind in the room, then, maybe......

Ball valve was open, their was a ceiling fan on, I’m running a Powermatic set at 230, it was barely damp to the touch right after I finished, made a bunch of dry passes.

It was dry enough right after I finished to barely even leave moisture on the glove on my hand, I was surprised myself, but even with a wand I get dry times as little as a half hour depending on the carpet type, maybe you’re forgetting the “extraction “ part?

It's not dry until you can put a moisture sensor on it and it says it's dry. Start telling your customers it's dry in 30 minutes to an hour and you will spend the rest of your life going back to remove rust and furniture stains.

Fair enough, but I’m not gonna have the furniture problem, I put everything back on plastic or foam anyway just in case and tell customers to leave it off just in case there’s moisture at the back of the carpet we couldn’t feel on the surface, either way it’s still pretty impressive to be able to drag a latex glove over it right after finishing and get literally almost no moisture on it , definitely way drier than with a wand. It was so dry that by the time I left they were rolling their walkers on it and leaving zero marks on the carpet, and it’s the same walker he was pushing himself around on outside so if it wasn’t dry there would be dirty marks from the wheels and sliders.

Yes, and maybe you think I just fell off the turnip truck

Ran a powermatic too for 20+ out of 28 years
And a 47 blower before that

Everyone likes to blowhard about dry times
Lots of down right silly claims 10 years ago here

Question them on it and you find "dry" to them means anything from "no water dripping off hands or gloves" to "paper towel doesn't wet" to knees don't get wet
And everything in between from "not squish" to "slightly damp"

NONE of which are "dry"

Yep, about 5 back and forth dry passes minimum, blower is a 45, I ran the tool over every traffic lane for about 10 minutes after I was done plus the passes during cleaning.

Well Sooper, not only did it pass the glove test, it passed the 94 year old on a walker dragging his feet going back and forth to grab his wife’s purse test exiting from carpet to tile leaving zero footprints or marks from the walker on the tile test as well as not leaving one spot on the light tan carpet with said walker and black soled dress shoes test by the time I was completely rolled up, raked and ready to get paid, which was definitely less than an hour later. So testy in the morning, do you need a hug?

I run a newer Cleanco with a 47 blower. Now, it’s supposed to be ran at 2850.... well fook that, I run mine at 3450.... AND, I run 2.5 inch hose to the door.... I then run 2” all the way to the tool... I maintain the shyte out of my machine(vac off the blower filters daily), and clean them with soap and water every 10-14 days.... WITH AN OLD SONIC TOOTH BRUSH.... I’ve got ZERO air leaks from the head of my wand, all the way to to the waste tank.... and there’s no way, IN THE COLDEST DAY OF HELL, do I get 15 min. dry times.....

It's wet until it's dry. Not when something doesn't mark it up. If you hype the drying times, you may have passed the furniture that you have moved but the customer is going to start putting back the items they have moved. Like the wicker laundry hamper or steel waste can or the nesting tables. You may be surprised if you go back 4 hours later and test with a moisture detector, that it is still wet. Moisture wicks upward. If the top is dry, the bottom is dry. Your hands, knees or paper towels are not much of a test.

Do you Clean just one house a day with that kind of time?

I use the Devastator wand and then I drop a blower in each room I finish and it's mostly dry when I leave. The first rooms I did will already be dry as I'm packing up the van and the last one or two will be dry in about an hour.
Florida has ceiling fans and those are also on and helping.
