thats why i basically stopped following them. It looks ridiculous and waste of money.

Perfectly fine to plug it into the house. I have no need for generator or a gas heater.

I haven't tripped the breaker for the past year..one in garage and one closest to me to plug it, no problem.
I agree. If you’re gonna go the portable route, that’s fine. I’m sure you can just as good of a professional job as a tm, as long as you stay with just a 50’ max hose with the machine in the house with you.

Don't tell lies. Why continue this stoopid myth.

You CAN'T clean as good with a portable as you can with a TM. It will take more effort, more time, just to get close. It can't be done...IT CAN'T.

AND there ain't no Santy Claus, Easter Bunny or Tooth Fairy either! ☺

I never said it wouldn’t take more time and effort. Of course it will. But it will deliver the same results.

It won't. People fall back on that popular quote but it's about as true as the tooth fairy.

By that reasoning a Rug Doctor will clean just as good too if you take more time.
NO it's not the truth! It's a fookin fairy tale belived by portable owners.

Maybe you can't but I can. I have both so I can compare. You're right with a little more time and effort with a porty sometimes but the results can be identical, including drying times. A lot depends on the porty, (not all porties are equal just like not all truck mounts are equal) and a lot depends on the operator. If you use porties often like Willy or Goomer, you learn how to get the most out of it with the least labour. You develop systems that make you as efficient as a TM.

We should prove it at a Mikeyfest. Section off 1,000sqft each and clean it. Let it dry and compare results.

Then allow the porty side to reclean until it compares to the TM. What did it take in the lab testing a few years ago. 11 times? Something like that.
I'm game. You pay to ship my porty down there and back and I'll put it up against your Everest. Spot me an extra 15 minutes on cleaning, (because I don't have the same heat) and 1 hour on drying time. Or have a Mikey's Fest up here.

So with a little more time I can out clean you using a Rug Doctor? Gezz! 🤤

Nope just real world. Majority of porty operators are delusional.
Gotta clean with same crap they use.

Besides the Everest is a beast. I like you too much to embarrass that bad in front of your peers. Take on an entry level like the Rage. I don't want you flying home early over some challenge.

Where's the fun in That?

Hell, I want to make fun of you everyday. 😂

machista
an exaggerated sense of manliness. 2. an exaggerated sense of power: national machismo. [1945–50, Amer.; < Sp] macho, machismo - Macho is from Mexican Spanish, meaning "male animal or plant" or "masculine, vigorous"—from Latin masculus, "male"; machismo (pronounced mah-CHEEZ-mo) is based on macho

1st --Larry is a straight shooter and speaks great wisdom. So you should consider his comments.

Ok--I get it.. you are tired of pouring money into your old machine and don't have the money or credit to buy a starter TM.

My main tech said, If he ever decided to go into business on his own, he would buy a porty instead of a TM. He is not mechanically inclined and he sees how much time and money I spend on Maintenance and repairs on the TMs. His porty rarely needs service and when it does its a lot cheaper. He forgets that he rarely uses the porty. With all that I know about him--A porty would be a wise choice.

I have the older 4 vacuum ETM for in-plant rug cleaning and Two, 2 vac M-5 porties. The New ETM and LX porty have the same new 2 motor set-up. I called Mytee to ask if the 2, more efficient motors were as powerful as the older 4 motor setup--- They danced around the question like Fred Astaire-- which leads me to believe the new 2 motor set-up is weaker.
IMO Mytee went with the new setup to make it a 2 cord 115v instead of the older 4 cord 115v, but some CFM and lift was lost. This new setup will make it easier to find outlets.
Since the ETM and LX are basally the same, I'd go with the LX due to price and more portability.

If you are going to add a Gas heater-- You need to make sure the Internal solution hoses and components can handle the higher heat.
Good Luck

Man, after hearing that one, I must have been a failure! Operating from a 11 truck ETM operation. What a bad business person I must have been! I guess I had better donate my money to "The Hillary Foundation"!!!!! (Our Government considers that "legal".

And, no, I do not want to get into a "My balls are bigger than yours". (ha-ha-ha)

That sounds past tense so it may very well be that you are bad biz person Ed.....

there is no such thing as an ETM

Keep dumbass political comments to the rubber room

buy a banner

It should speak volumes that the only person in this thread that suggest it is a viable option is the guy that makes the pos in the OP

I wouldn't call you a failure but if you say you are, who am I to disagree.

Personally I prefer the word "Poser". You are falsely using the illusion of a TM to fool your clients.

Once you start using a generator, Fred is right in that it is no longer an etm. Let's say you are using a 10 HP engine to power your generator, a 20 HP engine isn't really much larger and can power the blower, pump and heat the cleaning solution all in one package.

Lol

And Yoakum claimed he had 10 or so trucks back before the internet

Funny how these buffoons can’t seem to present a picture of these fictional operstions

The only picture Brokum could send me of his fleetbwas one drawn in crayons

You results will only be as good as the equipment and chems your using. Now this is on a very dirty carpet not one that is easy and out the door. The truckmount heat and vacuum is key to clean and the right chems. Now using a porty and a 175 roto will get okay results but is MUCH more work.99% of my work is truckmount. The few days of the porty is not even close but my wife likes $$$ to pay the bills so I do what I have to. The younger you are the easier the bull work is but after a certain age you see the better results using the correct equipment. jz.
