I'm thinking of purchasing an ambulance to put a TM in. The cargo area is heated and cooled lots of storage. It has a cat diesel and appears to be in good shape. I think it would look nice with a good wrap on it. He's asking $12k but said to make him a cash offer. Has anyone looked into this? Would I look like a dip shit? (Or more of a dip shit depending on who you ask?) All opinions and comments appreciated. Screenshot_20181108-230448_Facebook.jpgScreenshot_20181108-230510_Facebook.jpg

It would be fairly unique but I think I've seen a few. Would gut some interior structure to mount the unit?
Yes, I would have to do a little retro fitting. He says the cargo area dimensions are 47" wide by 13' long. My current TM is about 45" long, so I could mount it out the side door.

I have a couple of friends who have purchased them for a lock smith business and a septic service business.

The one thing here in MN is even though they are really not carrying anything large of heavy, they have to be DOT and they have said....they are not sure they would buy another because of this. The Patrols pull them over just about monthly for spot checks.

Diesel is expensive and while the engines can outlast gasoline engines, when they need work you better bring your wallet.

I have to admit it looks very cool and the compartments are handy. How about freezing weather? Can you keep everything warm if it is all segregated?

I'm not sure if the compartments are heated but the back is for sure. I haven't looked at it in person yet. Hopefully get to go look tomorrow. I agree on the expensive diesel part.

Currently checking into the DOT regulation. That could be a deal breaker for me. Thanks for the info.
