I'm intrigued by that Sanitaire, can you pull up a picture of the brush roll?
Wow. How did you manage that...
The royal has this little black “button/nipple” that sucks in/down when you adjust the vacuum to the correct height. My guys said they were having problems adjusting it. I took it in our old shop, adjusted it really high, turned it on and began lowering it till the button sucked it.... IT NEVER DID.... I smelt burning and shut it off to find a burnt beater bar shape in the carpet. Evidently the little spring loaded button was clogged with dust, etc...

I cleaned the button since but still doesn’t suck in. Hell of a vacuum and super powerful but to much adjustment needed too be used residentially.

Stanley is not a person and is incapable of any such admission. I, @CJ-FL, is expressing my belief that the use of a vacuum cleaner disturbs the indoor air quality, which I’m sure you and most others can attest to. If you use them they smell like ass. That’s because even HEPA filtration can do only do much to contain dog ass day in and day out.

Best post all day. I just snorkled my evening coffee.

Dust so fine, it blows up your bag...good thing they aren't to worried about air quality. The do wear air sampling device to make sure that theres no trace cyanide in the air..:eekk:

Pretty much..... dirty houses get vacuumed. Clean, well maintained houses don’t. As I look through trucks each morning I sbserve vacuums that don’t appear to be used frequently enough (I date the bags with a sharpie) and harass guys not using them... if they can’t be coached up, they’re coached out... I cannot verify every job but if they vacuum bag is only being changed once a week, it’s not being used. It’s not full proof but it’s Kaizen... (we’re better today than we were yesterday)
I'm glad you mentioned this because your first statement made you look like your crew didn't do any vacuuming. I do the same thing with well maintained carpet, not for the air quality, but for the time saved on the job. Job efficiency is more important than the stupid air quality in the house. Keep in mind the air duct system is probably trashed from never being cleaned in over 30years. I'm not sure if your crew cleans air ducts also...but if they don't, you're not helping the air quality just by skipping vacuuming. You're just saving money, which is very smart.

And next time you get your panties in a wad by being called Stanley, don't pitch a fit. Just throw one back at us. THat's what these assholes did to me when I first got on here.

An oreck will fill that bag faster than most other vacs. Its small though so not great for production but nice for stairs.

Our shark canisters don't stink because we wash the filters as well as the tanks regularly. We have about 5 or 6 different ones that are holding up well so far.

The bissels are disposable and don't get used much anymore.

Looking for a 14 inch or bigger for commercial jobs. Was going to ask jimmy what it was he had. I'm seeing the genius in his posts.

Much is made of raising dust by vacuuming, but as a practical matter, what is to be done? HEPA bags capture whatever is sucked, but every beater bar raises a cloud of uncaptured particulate.
The dust downer system should help if no beater bar is involved, but suction alone is always limited. At least everything is evacuated to outside the home.

Perhaps a turbine driven beater bar with a surrounding shroud similar to a Zipper, to contain particulate, with the suction to the outside.

It might be just as effective to strap your hose to an upright to create a capture zone.
Or set up an evacuation fan to ventilate dusty air and an supply air filter in the window to prevent drawing allergens in.

End of the day, most of this is rubbish. The Piffletons have been living with their crud for three years and we aren’t doing anything but ameliorating their situation.

true that
IF you're using their vac

Jimmy has mentioned it many times ...and I agree
it's not what's in their house, it's what we can potentially bring in

we can't all "be like Mike" that never sees homes with pets 'n parvo virus unawares
