I find a phone call works best. I hate electronic communication when I need to have a conversation.

I can struggle with the phone too but wayyy better.

Think I'll give him a call..

Great outcome and well handled.

I had an issue where the client accused us of poisoning her cat in a particularly vicious review.

At the time we covered the vet Bill as an act of kindness without admitting any liability. The cat was fine and the vet said the cat had a pre existing condition and that was the likely cause.

We were unaware at the time she had written a review and noticed it coming up in Google rankings a month later. This was in Brisbane with a population over 2 million and things like that can be pretty disastrous.

I called her up and after a 10 minute conversation where I killed her with kindness she took it down.

Unwarranted negative reviews are annoying. Is there another way of dealing with issues like this?

In a span of a few hours it goes from 1 star to five!

Can Monique add to his bill a "borderline personality surcharge"?

And to think that you wasted all your "old Jewish lady killer charm" on that :winky:"!

I think mentioning something about traffic and travel time, minimum charge job is worthwhile, everyone in your area can relate to that.

well, business owners can.

I'm always (a bit) amazed at how clueless Larry Lunchpails can be about the cost of running a biz..

It's called a law suit. If you have the necessary evidence, not only can you get the reviews dropped but you can also due for damages. There have been several lawsuits like that in the news recently.

It would be one thing if these guys had only performed the miracles that they did on my carpets, but to couple that with INCREDIBLE, accommodating service deserves more than 5 stars. We, shamefully, hadn’t gotten our carpets professionally cleaned for 5 years. I had assumed that the carpets in our rental were beyond cleaning and didn’t want to spend the money to put lipstick on a pig, so to speak. I finally reached a breaking point, spending so much time in my home office, surrounded by old coffee stains and dirt that I reached out to Connoisseur Carpet Cleaning. I had heard great reviews about their work over the years but had yet to experience it myself. Let the before & after photos speak for themselves. It’s been a couple months now and the stains are still GONE. Not to mention, they were able to squeeze me in for a touch up when I dropped an entire almond milk latte off the side of my desk shortly after the cleaning. I’m so grateful to them for saving my carpet — and for not making me feel bad for the state they were in! THANK YOU to Ely, Monique, and the whole team!!

I haven't heard of that happening in Australia.

Incidents like these stress the importance of documenting and recording as much as you can.

How many guys record mobile phone conversations?

In your case, you have a vet who can give an expert opinion on what really happened to the cat. People always want to blame the last person they see. I had a lady call me up several hours after I cleaned her carpets, accusing me of poisoning her cat. I immediately went back to her place and discovered she had been mixing bleach and ammonia while cleaning her place, creating chlorine gas. She was very apologetic but it easily could have gone the other way.

Who is to know.

The vet only said likely and not definitely.

Although I know definitely it was nothing to do with me.

Is it provable in court? Who knows

Hi Sid,

Long time no see, nine years to be exact..

As my daughter discussed with you, we are not in the Scotts Valley area on a date that would work for you. Due to the cost of running a real business in Santa Cruz county, it would cost us at bare minimum $100, to send an employee out to take a look and tell you if your carpet is cleanable or not.

Please keep in mind that we pay our crew members a living wage and we have operational costs including rent, insurances, fuel, equipment and vehicle depreciation, bonds, licences etc. To send someone out would involve overtime pay to sit in the lovely Santa Cruz traffic at the end of an already long day.

Your rental is a minimum charge job so all profit would be erased if we had to come out twice.

I'm disappointed that you felt the need to cause harm to our (extremely popular and award winning) business, because we basically, couldn't work for free for you.

Best of luck with your new tenants!

They form several chloramines, all of them bad for you in one way or another. At one time I seem to recall learning that it can also create the nerve agent phosgene (COCl2) but danged if I can find any source for that now. I wonder if it is all purged for “our own good.”

Janitors and cleaners make that mistake often. Clean the mirrors with ammonia and the sinks with bleach. My customer was cleaning white cabinets with sudsy ammonia and it wasn't working well so she switched to bleach. I could smell it as soon as I walked in.

Thank God there wasn't an internet back in the day.....aside from killing my very first old Bitty.....at the very first sign of haggle....I would spin around and walk back to the truck...all the while Mrs Phifft chasing me down to keep me from leaving!
I HAVE had little old Jewish ladies pull their sleeves up to show me the tattoo number on their arms trying to get a discount!
I never "gave"...
If there was an internet in my day.....they want have to have NEGATIVE stars....

Hard to believe but I really used to be a prick.......
