Hi All,

I'm looking into business software like Service Monster that is compatible with carpet cleaners who charge by the sq. ft. as opposed to room pricing which they seem to all support. Anyone successful with this? Which program are you using?
Thanks, Steve

TheCustomerFactor. $39 a month and does everything you need. I manage almost 1,000 clients with it. The app is pretty easy to work with also.

ServiceMonster works, if you don’t mind pennies on every dollar

I like charging the pennies. I used to round down every invoice. If I give up $0.25 for 1000 jobs that equals $250! I also feel it makes my pricing seem more honest and rigid, a basic formula rather than pulling numbers out of the air.

Service Monster works great with F2 pricing.

The problem with Customer Factor is if you use fractions it rounds up or down on the invoice. It will calculate the price properly but is visually incorrect. On very large jobs those fractions can be the difference of getting the job or not. Love the software other than that.

Okay, does anyone know of a Youtube video that shows a program that uses sq. ft. pricing?

Also, has anyone been able to integrate a Bluetooth laser measuring tool such as Leica with the app?

I’m using SM with s.f. pricing, but I don’t like having invoices with pennies on it, so I don’t let the program calculate the price.
Kentucky just added a 6% sales tax on cleaning. I also price in even numbers so my OCD is kicking in.

Will probably bump rates to include the tax in new whole dollar amounts

What state are you in, Stephen?

Alabama. But I do not charge sales tax on materials, it is just built in. Why should I track the ounces of stuff per job, when I get no break beyond the cost of acquisition?
A bit like licenses, per community, on top of property (equipment) owned for the business and so on and so forth. All the greedy hands dipping in my pocket and none of them are actually benefitting me.

We have been charging taxes on services for years here. Right now it's 5%. At one time it was 12%. Harmonized with federal tax. Pita. We have to collect and remit quarterly.
