I was watching carpet cleaning videos on the youtubes last night, I know, very exciting way to spend time. I found some to be educational with amazing results, some were funny and some were absolutely mind boggling.

What is it with smashing the wand into every vertical surface around? Walls, furniture, doors, etc? And have the balls to make a video of it. I know it happens occasionally but on every stroke? Aw hell no. If I did that in one of my customer's homes they would tell me to pack it up and leave. I would do the same to a worker in my home too. It shows a complete lack of respect for the customer.

The other thing I find mind boggling is what some people call acceptable. Half assed vacuuming, cheap prespray that is slightly better than water, only prespraying spots, lightly misting the rest of the carpet, not opening or closing doors to get the strip of carpet underneath, no dry strokes. WTF You're getting paid to do this. Maybe focus on making yourself better before you make some videos. I would be mortified to have my name associated with that type of work. Ok, I'm done.

Jason should we be government inspected? Some sort of liberal overseeing agency? Maybe have open borders so we can use illegal immigrants.

I suggest you spend your youtube watching to more important things like cat fights or police VS politicians.

Thank you for your time

I don't know what government inspections, a liberal overseeing agency or illegals have to do with respecting your client's home, using top quality products and taking your time to provide the best value and outcome for the client. This is about your image and quality, not the government. But if you somehow want to make it into that, by all means do so.

I think you are exactly right. I haven't reached guru status yet like a lot of these board members, but It's not that hard to stand out from the competition in this business. Just show up with no alcohol on your breath dressed half way decent and you are ahead of the pack. I'm sure there ae plenty of guys who jump into the business with no training. They get a squirt and suck machine and go to it. It also helps to have a touch of OCD in this business. Mrs. Jones likes when you pay attention to detail.

World famous for doing it right. Eh, except for those entryway floor scratches😉 but it happens.
