The glides are very different. So it would stand to reason they would recover differently on different carpets. The Bentley is a 2” tube. I guess you have to live and die by the window. I have the 2x14 dev and would say the dry times were the same as my Bentley. The Bentley was a rattling and streaking $800 turd.

You need a controlled air leak at the wand.

I take my 2" to 1.5" hose cuff and drill 4, 1/4" holes spaced evenly, at the beginning of the 2" to 1.5 " conversion point, and can push it onto the wand further to stop the leak, or back off and create a controlled air leak.

Your dry times will get much better, and you will eliminate the lock-down. This also works great for using an upholstery tool to create a small air leak so the tool doesn't lock to the fabric.

We need to get together soon. Call me.

Makes sense. When the Devastator is locked down, all goes silent. Definitely no airflow. At least not on longer yarned carpet.

it may or may not be the wand
airflow/drying conditions can vary from one room to another .
amount of pre-spray (even type and brand) makes a difference too

better way to evaluate is to split a room half n half
Your home is the best place, as you'll be able to monitor to complete dry

Greenie told me, many years ago, not to seal the ends of glides because they need a leak there.

How does an intentional leak anywhere upstream of the glide help?

Take a Dremel or box knife and cut a channel on both ends

And try that 8 ft whip hose, that wand has too much suck to go 2" all the way

Or get a bitty mount instead of a big mOunt that has too much performance for such a remarkable wAnd....

Or just choke down your TM to Bane specs......

I tried the whip. Still locks. I’ll carve out some channels - I bet that’ll do it. The wand probably needs to breath.
