What blower is really needed for single wand cleaning at 100'-150'?

The 370 seems like a good value, but it has just a 20 HP motor? Is that enough to run the 46 blower? The Legend site lists the 370 having a 23 HP motor. The dealer sites list it with a 20 HP motor. The Legend site also lists the machine as running the blower at 317 CFM. My Boxxer 318 is listed as 290 CFM with just a 36 blower running at 3150 rpm.

So... is the 370 really that much better than my 318 with a 36 blower that lists as running only 27 CFM less than a 370?

I'm not trying to pay for a 8k upgrade for a nominal increase in airflow.

at 100ft my 36 non heatexchange rig (unrestricted) feels like it has more than a mates 45 blower with a heatexchanger..

Haven't used or compared a lot of TM's, but bigger engines and blowers seem to mean more heat not vacuum for average hose runs

So adding a fuel fired heater to my 318 might add more value than buying a 370? The vacuum should be similar on 100'-150' hose runs?

I have 1 36 and 2 45's. My 36 is great up to150 feet and not bad at 200. I use the 45's for longer hose runs. All are unrestricted.

at 100ft I couldn't realistically imagine anyone wanting/needing more vacuum than a 36 (based off rigs I've used)

at 150ft I notice the drop but dont generally change how I clean

200ft I put an extra dry stroke in

A bigger machine opens bigger doors.

Stop thinking small.

Bigger blower should last longer and be less trouble free while delivering better performance.

Carpet cleaners always want more heat and power. It comes at a cost. Do you need maximum heat and power for most jobs? Hell no. Do you want maximum heat and power for most jobs? Hell yeah. Your budget will determine your heat and power levels.

Even if I don't need it? Seems like I won't notice a difference at 100"-150". If I don't need it, I'd rather spend that extra 15k on marketing and such.
The way I look at it is, do I always want to be maxing out my machine or do I want a little left in the tank

370 also has an advanced heat exchanger and belt cooling system. The results between a boxxer and the 370 at 150 feet would be identical. The 370 has value in its components and build design. I’m sure you’d say that about the 318 as well.

Thats where I wonder if the bigger blowers are actually stressed more?

We all choke them down to 2" hose and a glided wand on wet carpet

That extra cfm choke for a bigger blower either opens the vac relief valve (wasted) or does what??

36/45 blowers are 2.5" plumbing

47 blower I think is 3"

56 I think is 4"

which blower is better matched to 2" hose??

Bigger blowers have bigger gears which disperse more heat under a similar vacuum load in which the gears on a smaller blower are working harder at a lower threshold

doesn't answer the question though

do any other industries choke these blowers down as much as carpet cleaners?

Oh you've got 2" plumbing this size blower is pointless

If you're looking at spending $15k all at once... then you're right. but spending only $200 more a month on a bigger truckmount that gives you solid heat, and holds good suction, even when the trigger on the wand is pulled most of the time. It's worth it.

I'm loving my Everest 650. It's amazing how much better my jobs are than they were with my prochem Legend. I did 300ft jobs with my legend (36blower), but my wand was moving slower.

And I think you'll notice a difference at 150ft. The suction will be stronger and you'll be able to move your wand faster if you use a 47 or bigger blower

And I don't see much of a difference in performance with a 18/36 setup vs a 23/45 in the price we pay for these machines. If you're gonna finance a truckmount, just do a couple extra rentals a month and get one that surprises you on performance.

If I move up, I moving up big. Like Matt said, there’s not much difference between a 36 and 45.

I’d really like a 570... because it’s sexy. But... I almost never go over 150 feet. If I need to, it’s VLM time.

My machine does great for what I use it for, it’s not sexy though.
