That you would like to duplicate with your efforts

and that you're be willing to pay to be your mentor.

Fyi, if being a kept man and only having to clean to cover your beer and NFL package is your goal, Jimmy will teach you all he knows for 1 case of MGD and 1 case of NANO.

They both gave me so much inspiration at MF. They are also both genuine and down to Earth. I got to hang out with both of them at different times throughout the days and they are both very humble. I respect that and aspire to be more like them and their businesses!

I don't know you well enough to gauge if you have the personality it takes to handle a massive staff and all the issues and drama that comes along with it....

do you?

I just need to pay off the majority of my debt first. Then I’ll look and see if I want to copy anybody.

I don’t see any value in paying to kiss the hand.
Success stories are interesting and I do glean some insight. But unless your are buying a franchise, are you really going to emulate someone?

There are a few models for consulting that you should be aware of:

1. "The Enabler": These consultants will try to find out what their clients want to hear, and then they reinforce that. These guys get keep their clients for the longest because they aren't consultants....they are enablers.

2. "The Hired Boss" This one is simply someone who you report to so that they can make sure you are doing what you are already supposed to be doing. How many sales calls, firing the bad employee, work on your website, etc. These can be replaced by a nagging wife.

The "Boss" also means anybody who bought any kind of franchise no matter what it is. Went to several different kinds of franchise meetings over the years and they control everything you do. No feeling of ever owning any kind of business.

The only outfit I'm familiar with is CD. They had nice manuals and good info.

I had dreams starting up on my own but after a couple years that all changed. I know what needs to be done but going from a one man show to an actual business is not easy. I focused on cleaning instead of hiring. Then life got messed up.

Having what it takes and knowing what to do is the first part. Implementing that info is another thing. That's where most fail imo.

Paying someone for help is a great idea if you are motivated to grow. Buying a franchise is a great motivator and support system for someone wanting to be a multi truck operation. You get all the forms and manuals to help but you have to follow their guidelines.

If I was serious about growing I would take some classes available to us. Spending money on classes or a guru is a great motivator. But I have no clue who I would ask. I wouldn't want to emulate anyone. The true success stories seem to be people who do things just a little different than others. Or a lot different.

I'm pretty happy where I'm at now though. Just wish i could find someone to help more. Someone who might take it over one day.

I used to work for what I considered a very successful company. In some ways I am trying to emulate them. The owner came from the dry cleaning industry and had an incredible knowledge of fabrics and cleaning techniques. We ran 2 truck mounts and 1 delivery van. Residential cleaning during the day and rug cleaning in the plant by night. Weekends were for commercial cleaning. We ran 4-6 full time employees and 2 part timers. The delivery van driver worked 3 days per week, picking up and delivering rugs. 1 Part time receptionist/secretary who shared the work load with the boss. Among our customers were some of the most wealthiest and famous people in the area. The boss kept good records, back then on index cards and raised the prices by 10% every year. His way of thinking was, if they paid $350 last year, they won't even notice that they're paying $385 this year. For a small company with a small footprint, we were very profitable. He is retired now, kids didn't want the business and it just frittered away.
