All of you guys who have exhaust exchange tm's. Since you also have last step chemical injection, why not bypass excess hot water on the ground instead of the waste tank? Not going to hurt anything. Just put a fitting and a jet through the floor.

I would expect a LOT of blowback from onlookers and an occasional rugrat getting scalded.
Not that some of them don’t have it coming.

Nobody is getting scalded, it is spraying out under the truck. By the time it hits the ground, it's cold already. A little water running down the driveway isn't going to hurt anyone. A lot of trucks leak that much anyway.

That might be a good idea. The few jobs i was doing was that issue. I must've had 40 gall because my wand doesn't have enough flow to keep up. I need to change to 4 flow or 5. Would it be a bad idea to use hot water for water box for pre heated water?

For your tm, a 6 flow would be fine.

Maybe not now but not uncommon for a fitting to begin leaking during a job.
Then you know you have a problem to fix. If it's always leaking you might miss a small problem that becomes a big problem before you know it.
I have a 100 gallon fresh and dirty no issues.

why not dump it back into the fresh tank? Unless you are really dumping tons of water it shouldn’t raise the fresh water temperature to an unsafe temp for the water pump

They don’t sell the fresh water tank as part of the deal. And I doubt they’ll spend the time making it go through the floor.

You sometimes never know what you don't know.

You never leave the city Ron?
Not for cleaning. All of our trucks are a bit of a compromise. We need to get around the city easily and be able to park. We also need extra room in the trucks for portables, cimex machines and picking up rugs. For the type of work I do, I would need at least a 100 gallon fresh tank to avoid having to refill on the job and just don't have the room for it.

I quit picking up rugs 5 years ago, but when I did they slid in on an 8' long tray that went over the tank and 405 (both 40"tall).

Tanks 140+ fresh, 210ish waste, with room still for the stuff you mentioned.

When your truck fills up after a room you know its time to replace your 165 degree temp relief valve

You are not a "real" carpet cleaner without a fresh water tank.

Your excuses will leave you high and dry.
I’ve had countless customers ask if I NEED to hook up to their water supply.
Well, no, you’re water is too ‘dirty’ for me mrs. pilfington....
I only use RO water, sorry....

That's probably the long wheel base van. Too big for my parking spaces. I run the regular wheel base for that reason. We're in and out of a lot of right spaces, especially in some of the townhouse complexes we do. That's where the little Astro with the CDS shines. Just wish it had a little more heat. My dodge isn't bad and has room for rugs. The Astro has a full size waste tank and doesn't leave enough between the tank and roof to slide a large rug through.
