I don't know why, but we do not see mfd baseboards up here really.

I think because we are from the land of woods and lakes, there is a lot of lumber mills and real wood valued over that in our homes up north.

Feeling lucky!

It doesn't have to be a chimp. People are idiots....

If it cleans up good at 1ooo psi... 2000 will be twice as clean.
That's the old more is better rule.

I'm pretty sure marty or Jimmy invented that

I'm thinking MDF has little or nothing to do with location.
It's cost
It's simply cheaper for the home builder/developer than finger jointed primed poplar (or other inexpensive hardwood)
and most of it is "finished" .... doesn't need painted like FJ primed

and there are two different kinds of MDF
the saw dust and resin kind and the pressed paper.
The former will take "some" moisture..the latter is garbage and like a sponge

I'll buy that.
Does the bottom edge ever come pre primed or just the face?

can't visualize it to say, Big nsSlim
we've never used it ..always FJ primed or stained and urethane'd realdeal

The pressed paper crap, I "think" you can see the " film skin" fold over half the bottom.
can't think what the bottom of the better MDF looks like

I watched part of that vid .
did you say water alone doesn't swell it?
I'm curious how you determined that?

MDF turns to crap with repeated slosh 'n pool under regardless of water, water w/soap or dog urine

one other thing of note
the word "lippage"used so much
I'm not sure if it was repulsive or erotic sounding to me ..
and that scares me.....

With that amount of damage it makes me wonder if they had a flood.

Yeah I just looked at the video again and the corner in the start by the kitchen looks pretty suspicious. You can see the corner cap of the drywall through the paint. Almost mouldy. I'd almost bet it was a flood from the kitchen - supply line, dishwasher, refrigerator.
