I have tried them all and I cant find a pre spray that doesnt do a good job if you let it dwell and scrub it in. Some work faster. Some do work better but I havent had a bad pre spray in years. Most all work the same. Or close to the same.
Now there are plenty of situations that I boost them with Peroxide, or citrus solve but for the most part if you use them as directed they work well.
Some guys get so hung up on PH. There is so much more than PH. I cleaned a Mexican Restaurant with Saigers 10 bellow boosted with a little citrus solve and it killed it. Dont get me wrong. We do carry several on the truck. Cobbs for almost everything. 10 bellow on nylon that could be under warranty. Flex for Polyester that needs nuked. Bio Break for dog dander places.
What say you?
Any really bad pre sprays out there?

All of the major manufacturers make great products. The only "bad" products I see now are either:
1) some distributor deciding to private label a product at a lower price because anybody can just add water and sell it for $1 or 2 less per gallon.
2) Products made for JanSan outlets, not frequented by knowledgeable carpet cleaners who know what they are doing.
Pretty sure these are not the places Adam is looking for his presprays.

The industry benefitted from Prochem Ultrapac being the benchmark made by Joe Domin. At Bridgepoint we did not want to introduce any pre-spray that was not competitive with Ultrapac. I built over 30 prototypes of Zone Perfect and constantly compared our performance until we believe we matched Ultrapac. We introduced Zone Perfect in 2002 and with a few changes along the way is our most competitive liquid pre-spray below pH of 10. Pre-sprays are one product that are constantly judged by their performance. You will not get away with an underperforming pre-spray no matter the cost. A poor pre-spray costs you more in time (labor cost) than saves you in the purchase. Other product types are not as easily judged like rinses, protectors, bacteria products, etc.

However, there are other things than pre-spray performance like the safety (personal and environmental), foam levels, fragrance, re-soiling profile, etc. Some of these are harder to evaluate and to some cleaners are of minor importance.
