Is taking some time to work as a technician before starting my own business worth it?

I've thought about taking the CCT course and then working (6 months or so) for someone else (presuming I can get hired....) before starting my own carpet cleaning business.

Would it be worth it?

Something that has also crossed my mind is that some companies may make you sign a declaration that you will not open up your own business for a certain period of time after working for them.

Thanks!

Working for someone else will give you the basics. The easy part of going on your own is buying the equipment. The hard part is getting a continuous stream of good quality customers to pay the bills.

Try it in a real high volume company. If you can make it there well you might make it solo. An no crying over sore bodyparts. Lol...
