Hey i have a guy having a issue using the reducer coupler to shorten his Bentley Swivel Wand. They have tried what Mytee said with silicone and also 2 part epoxy but neither one was strong enough to hold together. Any ideas what might work best? Does anyone have experience cutting down their Bentley they could share? We are gonna keep work on figuring out a solution but any help would be great. Thanks

Yeah I understand that. It wouldn’t have been my choice but it is what it is. Just seeing if anyone else can help out otherwise I gotta try to get mytee to refund his money on this one since it’s brand new and their instructions and help haven’t worked.

oh..then yeah welding

but the epoxy and a sleeve could still work. Would likely need to roughen/etch the titanium and use a good epoxy like Hysol 9359.3

It’s the titanium tube. I was thinking about the same stuff I use for tank lid gaskets. Bostic

I’ll be clear, I tried my hardest to convince this company to buy other “better” wands but they were determined to get 1 of these so as a good supplier I gave all the info and facts on the future issues but it’s the old saying you can lead a horse to water thing. I’m gonna get my hands on that wand this week and see if either myself or my service manager to see if we can figure out what they are doing wrong and if we can get them fixed up. Thanks for all the help and response. I’ll make sure to share what we end up doing and if it works.

Yeah they were before I started here. Chris pond I believe spoke at one of them. I was a customer of theirs for years but now I’m work for them. Nice to see both sides. Should bring another MF back here.

(update) Got the wand back last week. Rasped the metal down and cleaned with alcohol. Used Bostic 1100FS Poly. Customer picked up the wand and has done a few jobs and said it seems to be much better. I dont think it will ever feel like it did with the reducer cuff supplied being slightly to large of a diameter to make it feel secure but this is the best we could do outside of having it welded. Made sure not to put the poly in the cuff when installing it back on the wand. Instead applied it to the wand metal itself as we pressed it into the cuff so no poly will be poking out inside the vac tube where debris could catch onto it.

Yeah it was hard to get everything to sit where it needed to for the bostic to hold with the cuff being to big. I used a vice and painters tape for a few hours to hold everything in the right position. I would never for 1 have bought this wand or cut it for that matter.
