Prob'ly so, as I figure anything labeled as lube has some oil in it.

I forgot to follow up but I tried it on the chain and it was too gummy..
Isn't that the idea for lubing a chain? They're meant to be gummy so they dont get flung off

Admittedly depends on areas you ride, I used to use wd40 when I regularly rode sandy areas. Hose all sand and crud off followed by wd40 2-3x a week

these 1x12 systems are a bit touchy, if not delicate.
