Bulletin Board compared to FaceBook

I'd like to hear from you guys who continue to use Mikey's Board and why you prefer this "old school" format and the board itself over FB.
I'm considering running some ads on Facebook to bring awareness to MB to the new to the internet cleaners that are seeking out information, education, camaraderie and crusty old bitter janitors who like shitty old-timey music...

I am on a bunch of face books groups. Some have some good people with lots of knowledge and others are filled with rookies who want to know how many ounces in a cup. A lot of them are sponsored by suppliers promoting their own line of products. I see a lot of names that you will see at a Mikeys Fest but you never see them posting on Mikeys Board. Some are where old Mikeys Boarders go to die. Lot's of good people out there with good information and dedication to this industry and Mikeys Board would only benefit by their participation.

The biggest difference that I see, and the one I'd point out to promote MB, is the ability to reference past information.

When I used to spend my time on other industry FB groups, I'd often see terrible advice given, with a lot of likes and thanks.

It's difficult to go back and really see the entire discussion on FB. Here, its far more easy to follow along, and bad advice doesn't get to far without some nuclear bombs being dropped right quickly.

I don't have Facebook. Don't want to be in that into other people's lives. I don't want them into mine.

If I haven't seen you since High School its doubtful you are my friend, rather just someone I went to school with. You don't need to know what I'm eating today or what shirt I have on.

The same goes for relatives, I just don't care to be that engaged unless it a reunion or other gathering.

Work acquaintances also, too much gossiping going on, everyone knows everything.

Here I don't have my relative's (other than Dan) checking on me. No mother Inlaw or sister inlaws, bother inlaws, cousins. I can just talk about cleaning and be a goof without caring what my exwife cousin might see.

I'd just rather hangout here with cleaners.
