Time to hag up the wand. I just sold my business tonight. I'm 65 with some health issues and I don't need to work anymore. My wife retired 3 years ago and loves it. We've put enough money away and my wife has done well with the investments so we're fine financially.I'll miss my customers and suppliers. I built relationships and forged friendships that will last beyond my career. The gentleman that bought my business has a firm understanding of customer service and I'm quite confident he'll be very successful. That makes me feel better about my decision. I'll still come here and tune you Lulus up when you need it (especially you Chavez.) Time for another chapter.

congrats, Willy!!!

Maybe you'll have time to catch some fish now!

I know you're sorely deficient in that.
So start here to increase your odds

Going back to the Maritimes, or staying in beautiful BC?

How many years have you been married? How long do you expect before she wants a divorce after spending more time with you?

Better get a hobby or a PT job! lol

Mine can only take so much of me before it's time for me to go do yard work. šŸ˜‚

Congratulations Willy

This is a good time for me to say something about my first impression I had with people in Nova Scotia, as well as the other Maritime provinces; and with few exceptions, that impression remains:

People in the Maritimes remind me of people from our "south":

Overall, they tend to be polite, hospitable, warm, genuine, and when they talk to you, they treat you like you're the most interesting person in the room, even if you aren't.

Yes, I'm including you in this observation Marty. Just hit "like" and don't think of something unkind to say just to deflect the compliment.

Any stranger is always the most interesting person in the room to them. Until they run out of questions, which may take a while.

I could talk all day about my experiences with people in the Maritimes; like all places else, there are good and bad people everywhere of course. But if you can't already tell, I'm partial to the folks up there.

But post all day I won't.

First, it wouldn't do the stories justice.

Also, it would annoy Marty and he'd post something unkind.

I got married in the Magdalen Islands, about 100 miles off Nova Scotia. My wife has relatives there. You are from there or from "away". They are very good at making you feel like you belong. Everyone who was at our wedding has become family.
