I think it also has something to do with the vacuum. My understanding is that there can be a little sparking around the winding and brushes on certain vac motors.
They use explosion proof vac motors.

I dry cleaned for years. Reclaimed all solutions and let them settle, filter and reuse.
Really don't miss those days of coming home all tingly and numb from solvent splash back.

I use the black horsehair brush and the pad not using a buffer.
Thanks Jack, we have a lot of office chairs to do over Christmas break, and anything that can speed the process up helps, so will give it a trial
