We put some cushions from a sunken sailboat through, but open cell foam holds water so well that even that and weeks in the dry room couldn't get water out of the center of the foam.

Just like the "outdoor cushions" that aren't, saturating the wrong foam will mean replacement.

Would a spin in a centrifuge possibly get out the rest of the water? But making it balanced of course..

A centrifuge will remove more water than a compression wringer - eventually. Just forcing water out of the middle of the cushion might make it possible to get them dry.

We would spin chem sponges for 10 minutes after washing them. However it still took a week in the dry room for them to be dry in the center with a moisture probe.

We used commercial washer. You could do several dozen at a time.

It doesn't remove the soot stain but they are used in the heavily smoke residue areas. This way you save the new ones for cleaner areas.
